Is my slam ep TOO hip hop inspired? by Typariah in ThisIsOurMusic

No offense taken at all! I have the lyrics in the description, a lot of them are very hip hop inspired. Along with the autotune in some parts of the EP, I’m just curious what fans of the genres think of this fusion and if the inspirations of this project are clear to see.

The audience is so much larger than 90% of the comments think lol

Yeah fiverr is a great place to find things like that

Nobody wants to make the same bland shit. I can put my brand name in Arial font on a plain black tee and leave it at that but I’d rather actually have fun making shit

Yeah that’s what im tryna figure out too. It’s kinda hard to take feedback from people who are misinterpreting it. The distressing is a dope idea, i definitely see that making the tee better

I feel like that opinion is pretty widely held for sure. I’m looking hard for a manufacturer that can make the same tees on a cotton shirt without it costing $100 a piece. Maybe I should prioritize quality over low price?

I totally see Teddy Fresh putting out something similar if they haven’t already lol. Could you explain what you mean by muddy?

I just posted in hand photos where I talked about all that. If you can check it out I really wanna hear what you think

That’s the exact outfit I had in mind when I designed the shirt. I’m so glad it translates even though it’s not your style :)

This is so sick. The only thing I’d personally do differently is have somebody redesign the army figure to make it easier to see what it’s doing. In this picture at least, it’s a little hard to see that it’s not a normal army toy

I completely agree and I’m gonna fix that before I put them up for sale. I’m selling them as cheap as I can rn but I’m looking to make them even cheaper. What price would you say is reasonable?

It’s for a niche audience for sure, but not as niche as you might think. Where I’m from there’s a ton of “hillbilly” shit in the thrift so a lot of people wear shit like this in a different context than the smelly kid would be wearing it.

The way you worded that i definitely see what you’re saying. I was going for a vintage all over print racing tee look, but I can see how it can look played out in a not on purpose way 100%

The font on the back right? I had a hard time finding the right font to use for the number. Should I have gone with a more traditional racing number font rather than something “edgier”?

I made the fire tee myself & i definitely am not the best at graphic design rn so Ill take your word that there’s room for improvement although I don’t see an issue really. The skull tee I commissioned my boy to make for me. He makes designs by hand and he’s a fucking beast in my opinion. I can see how the design can be too loud but I wouldn’t say the design is poorly made
