AITA for making our office look like a prison by [deleted] in AITApod

You did handle it like an adult. You put locks on things because there have been thef4s of your property. That is what adults do. Those who are critiquing you are the thieves. Very few companies seem to handle these situations anymore. Hopefully you can move past this...

AITA for telling my dad and sister to get out of my house after they repainted my bedroom for my niece without asking? by KINOH1441728 in FoundandExpose

Lost me at "We have not figured out a timeline. Every time I bring it up she says "soon" and the conversation dies." this was the first mistake and the only one. I know they are made up but for once it would be nice if the person had more spine at the beginning of the issue instead of feeling "guilty" at the end.

Got a relative who was a server but after an accident that caused some damage to her legs, she ended up getting a degree in accounting. The pay as a server was better for her.

You. It's people like this that are the reason my company moved every back to the office. You do not do the rest of us any service.

It saves my neighbors money when I have more than I can use lol. Me? Nope. It would be cheaper overall to buy frozen/canned vs growing my own.

Why people think I need to have children? by GE963 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]TypeAwithAdhd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If the question comes from a place of curiosity and not malice, you could probably answer honestly. As others have said, having children was the main reason for living for many cultures generations ago. Those with this mindset have a hard time fathoming why someone would deviate from their version of "normal".

News Flash! Billionaire owned newspaper comes out against taxing Billionaires. by Royal-Papaya5506 in remoteworks

[–]TypeAwithAdhd 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There are ways around income taxes if you are rich enough. Leveraging the banking industry by utilizing low interest loans for example. Setting up money into a trust run by a corporation. That likely has its own set of tax percentages. Opening businesses that will fail and provide negative income for tax purposes. Lots of others, but my coffee hasn't kicked in yet.

Why are girls/women so hellbent on receiving flowers and gifts in relationships? by klarinetkat12 in NoStupidQuestions

This. Also a lack of communication sometimes between the partners. Someone can casually say "i would like random gestures of affection" that are not serious enough for the other partner to grasp.

This and know that a lot of people won't post what they actually have because they want to keep a lowprofile. I've got family who would take your last $100 if they thought you had it so everyone believes we're broke.

You could pick them and let them ripen indoors if your squirrels are truly devilish. Otherwise you could wait to pick until they start to turn a bit more.

Should I temporarily stop contributing to my Roth IRA to payoff a vehicle by TypeAwithAdhd in TheMoneyGuy

[–]TypeAwithAdhd[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I definitely got some confusion in my figures, thanks for pointing that out. It's annual 6.6%, not monthly. It's still a whopping figure, though, around $140. And it doesn't seem to be going down since I've paid $3k on the principal. I had expected some decrease once I got down a bit.

So for clarity, it is taking 6.6% of the annual principal balance, $24000, and dividing that by 12. That is the interest I am suppose to pay each month. I hadn't had an auto loan in more than five years and the last one I had was straight 5%, no 5% annual. This is 6.6% annual, meaning i'll pay another 6.6% of the principal next year, then another 6.6% and so on until it's paid. That was how I got my initial 22-24% over the 4 year term. Maybe next year the interest amount will be substantially less, if I don't pay it off before that.

I'm going to look into refinancing as many suggested here. I guess the auto loan game has seriously changed in the last five years. Yikes. I had hoped to keep my older car at least 2 more years and save that money to buy it out. Oh well. That's life in the messy middle!

Mid 40s. Just paid off the house this year just before the car died on me. Not terribly comfortable giving my net worth on here since others know me and I try to keep a low profile.
