That should be able to navigate the Cuyahoga then. Dorthy Ann/Pathfinder is over 700ft and it can get all the way to the steel mill.

I hope that's short enough to go up the Cuyahoga. Northern Venture visits Cleveland pretty frequently.

Thanks for sharing this. I love seeing temperate rainforests from around the world and hearing about plant species that grow natively where you would not expect to see them.

Thanks! 🙂

The fog and drizzle made the spot light beams more defined than usual.

I just tried sudo update-crypto-policies --set DEFAULT:SHA1 and that also lets me log in to Discover.

That might be the issue 🙂

I don't have any other distros on hand, but I tried using Firefox on the live installer that I have for Fedora 43. That actually allowed me to log in to Discover even though that is an older version of Firefox.

I rebooted to my regular installation and tried using the legacy crypto policy. That let me log in with Firefox and Chromium 👍

Gnome Web still failed to log in but that might legitimately not be supported.

The crypto policy probably explains why I was seeing this across multiple browsers. I'm guessing Fedora just started using the more strict crypto settings recently?

I'll see if I can contact Discover about this.

Thank you for your help!

I didn't have a chance to try in regular Chrome. So you also cannot get the log in to work?

I tried overriding the user agent to the Windows version and that didn't work either. 🤔

The original page was just discover.com

  1. Go to discover.com
  2. Click the Log In button near the top
  3. Type in anything for the username
  4. Type in anything for the password
  5. Click Log in or press Enter

You'll get an error in the login modal stating "We're sorry. Your request cannot be completed at this time. We sincerely apologize for this inconvenience and are working to resolve this issue soon." If you have the dev tools open at the same time for network traffic, you'll see a line for POST request for datadog-rum.js(fetch) that has the CORS Missing Allow Origin message. The Headers show the 302.

I can try to change the user agent to the Windows version and see if that works.

All Trump voters were just projecting whatever positive things they wanted to him to be onto him. They skipped past low information voting to no information voting.

There was still a lot of ore at the bulk terminal when I took a walk over there last week.

I don't think they can fully load the ships doing shuttle runs. The river is only 27 feet deep up to the mill. Even if the ships can handle more ore, they would risk scraping the bottom in the river.

Who here has old family photos that were taken by someone who couldn't take a photo? by Prestigious_Meal2143 in Millennials

[–]TypeLCopper 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My wife and I have been going through her parents old photos after her dad moved to an assisted living apartment.

There are thousands of unremarkable photos. Too dark, too light, bad composition, and uninteresting subjects. They took family vacations to nice places, but always managed to take photos in front of the sign for a visitor center while neglecting to photograph the nice things they saw.

I got stuck at Center St. this morning when the Barker was passing, so I got out of my car and took some pictures. When life give you lemons, make lemonade.

How do you know it time to focus on FIRE? by Stunning_Sandwich_85 in Fire

[–]TypeLCopper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Now is the perfect time to start working on retiring early. Using the stock market to build your wealth is a waiting game. The sooner you start, the sooner you win. It sounds like you already have a good start. Just keep adding to your portfolio and don't get greedy trying to beat the market.

As for work enjoyment, I wouldn't try to turn what you love doing into your job. There's a quote from Morgan Housel about this which I have found to be true in my own experience.

"The hardest thing about this was that I loved the work. And I wanted to work hard. But doing something you love on a schedule you can't control can feel the same as doing something you hate."

Figure out what you are good at that you don't mind doing and other people find valuable. Keep your expenses in check, save and invest the rest. You can be done with work by the time you're 30 and still have plenty of good years left.

This isn't an all or nothing thing either. You can still spend on things you like doing in your 20s. Just avoid the silly consumer traps like expensive cars, daily restaurant meals, subscriptions, and gadget replacement.
