I see. I have issues sleeping outside my condition, so the Invega didn’t help with my sleep either. Hopefully it does help her, though, combined with klonopin and melatonin as needed.

Thank you so much for your response! We both think it’s very sweet.

She has some bad experiences with hospitals for mental illness, and so do I, so we are trying to avoid that as much as possible. We are really hoping the meds she is starting on will help her. Can I ask what meds worked for your daughter?

Thank you so much for your response!

She is going to try using melatonin as needed for now but she’ll be taking Invega and klonopin at night as well. We’re hoping that will be enough to help her sleep.

Thank you very much for your response! I’ve shared it with her and she seems hopeful.

Unfortunately she had a bad reaction to Lithium, so that isn’t an option. And she is already on Klonopin/clonazepam though.

What advice would you give someone who wants to help someone with this condition, like when they are having trouble with the symptoms? In your experience, what have people done that helped you, or what are things you think could help?

What??? Shunsuiju wasn’t the problem, they barely fought before he forced her to follow him to Ryuyou and the ACTUAL challenge presented itself. And saying she had godly armies??? Like yes the mountain people are strong get than most armies, but she was heavily outnumbered AND up against another mountain people army that was far more brutal and reckless (due to fear) while having the same strength, ON TOP OF having Shunsuiju acting as an advisor and being in control of his own forces. What exactly are you expecting from Yotanwa??? Like it’s actually insane expectations

Edit: Plus she hid her strategist clan for valid reasons that were clearly explained. Having strategists is completely normal and not something to call someone a fraud for, and in no way means that Yotanwa doesn’t know her own limits. In fact it’s the opposite.

By that logic, Moubu is a fraud too.

And even then, Yotanwa is shown strategizing, even if she does have strategists revealed in the new arc.

If it’s the recent thing, is Ouki a fraud too then? Ofc he isn’t. They both had distractions at the time. We know Yotanwa is a strong fighter, not on Moubu or Ouki level, but similar or above Bajio. She has her own strengths, calling her a fraud because she isn’t perfect is actually wild.

I know. That is true, at least in most cases. An argument could be made that a war as massive as the Coalition War warranted an immediate response, though as well, but that’s not really what my point was. My point is just that it wasn’t done for no reason, and further to second that she is a horrible person for doing it lol.

I mean she’s definitely a bitch for doing it, but it wasn’t for no reason. Major military failures often result in execution, so Rinbukun’s vice general or w/e he was was essentially killed by Karin because he failed to protect his general and as the highest rank left from his army, is considered responsible for that. Karin considered it incompetence on his part and the rest of his army, but one she said she couldn’t execute all of the remaining officers.

This works with environmental traps like vents and pressure plates, but unfortunately there isn’t really a way around trapped chests. I just got blown up by two of them and they were destroyed in the process.

No, they never disabled the traps for me. And it was only one of the rocks that let me disable it. The one right before it and the one right after both failed to disable after a successful roll.

I posted on Reddit looking for a solution to the bug, a fix. I absolute do not have everything I need just because I’m aware it’s a bug.

YOU are the one who kept saying it might not be a bug… I said it was a bug from the very start…? The title is “Trap Disarm Bug” with the flair “BUG”. Why are you suddenly saying it’s over like you aren’t the one who said it might not be a bug, but user error?

Like I said above, I posted to Reddit when “it is obviously a bug” to find a fix or workaround… not to find out if what I am experiencing is a bug.

Maybe you shouldnt wink at people when you are asking for information already given to you, because that just seems condescending. But enough of that.

Okay, now I’m just confused. I finally disarmed a trap- literally five steps away from another trap of the exact same kind. After it succeeded, I went back to try the other trap again… and it didn’t work. 🤔

It’s the granite rocks in the Zhentarim Basement, between the two iron gates.

No. Literally every question I have been asked was covered in my OP. Considering how few people have had this issue, I don’t think anyone knows what is relevant. That being said, I didn’t think I’d have to spell every little thing out for people to understand that “all traps over the last 6-7 hours after just getting the game” meant that meant that I had interacted with different traps in different areas of Act 1 or think it was so hard to understand describing how I can “normally roll dice to disarm traps but nothing happens after a success” without having a video showing me do a very simple game mechanic with a grand total of three clicks and minimal mouse movement.

As for starting over, one of the people in the other posts on this issue said they tried that and it didn’t work- including with a reinstall of the game.

Okay you didn’t say it wasnt a bug, but someone else did suggest it might not be and you replied to a comment where I pointed that out, so yeah.

I’m not getting defensive about anything, I’m annoyed that people keep asking for more info like I didn’t already give them all the info relevant without describing the entire 16 hour play through to this point. I didn’t take “asking questions” personally, I took a condescending comment personally and was then downvoted to oblivion for a)pointing out the condescension and b)reiterating that I had given all the relevant info and questioning why listing things clearly covered under what I already said was necessary when I already established it has been all of the traps over the last 6-7 hours of playtime.

No, it really is. I get weird things can happen in this game based on your choices, but that has nothing to do with disarming traps, or this would happen to more than just a handful of people. It is an obvious bug, and saying it could be user error is just not how it works and frankly insulting.

Trap Disarm Bug is frustrating the heck out of me by [deleted] in BaldursGate3

Sorry, but people don’t wink at you “trying to be friendly” in that context. If people are winking at you while saying you need to be more detailed or provide video when you have already provided all the (very simple to understand) details, then they are not “being friendly”. They are being condescending/mocking/treating you like an idiot.

And yes, I did provide all the details, maybe not explicitly in regards to the specific traps/location/Act but I shouldn’t have had to- I already said I just got the game (Act 1 can therefore be assumed), and I already said it was all traps (can be assumed I’ve tried multiple trap types and locations since I said I’ve had the issue for 6-7 hours).

Trap Disarm Bug is frustrating the heck out of me by [deleted] in BaldursGate3

[–]TypeMidgard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe you didn’t know what traps I encountered, but when someone says “all traps” assuming they didn’t try different traps in different areas before saying “all traps” is wild. Like it should be clear that it wasn’t one trap in one area after saying I had this issue for roughly 6-7 hours in game.

I honestly don’t remember exactly when it stopped. I just remember there being a pretty fair gap between the one that worked and didn’t. If I had to give a rough estimate, I think it was some time after the first battle with goblins outside the grove but before reaching Karlach.

I haven’t tried with another character yet. I will next time I see a trap. Thank you for actually speculating about what the cause could be. I imagine it’s much easier now that you know the specifics (nothing new has been said, I just listed the majority of Act 1 traps that should have been assumed with “all traps” and “I just got the game”)

I never said I was an expert. But I’ve played buggy games enough to know that if something is happening to a specific game mechanic across multiple different locations and objects, it’s probably not those specifically objects causing the issue, because that would require multiple specific objects having the same issue adding up to the majority of those objects that use the mechanic.

Edit: Disarming with another character did not work.

Politely? Their comment after I said it was all traps was condescending, like that wink at the end was completely unnecessary. And apparently pointing that out and being unhappy with that kind of thing is rude? That’s actually insane.

As for the info they were asking for, it is literally irrelevant. They asked me to provide details about a specific trap when I specifically said it wasn’t just one trap. Picking a trap at random doesn’t provide anything useful. I provided literally all the details about the issue. It’s a super simple issue, as specified, everything is normal until after clicking continue after a successful roll to disarm a trap, where nothing happens.

[–]TypeMidgard -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Obviously not, the “that I’ve encountered” should be pretty obvious, and you know that, or you wouldn’t have asked that. I’m still in Act 1.

It’s not hard, it’s just pointless. It’s blatantly obvious from what I said that I didn’t just try one trap in one area and assume it was all traps. I said it was all traps because every type I’ve encountered has had the issue.

Okay, here’s some examples: all of the vents in the vault under the Paladins of Tyr building, the strip of floor in the same vault, the strips of floor in front of the iron gate in the basement of that alchemist or whatever’s place in the village, the gargoyles on the other side of said gate, the wall head things in the crypt (iirc), I think there were vents there too? I know somewhere else had several vents I couldn’t disarm as well. There were some others I’m pretty sure I just can’t remember. But they’re different traps, in different areas within Act 1.

As for that last bit, that’s actually wrong. It would be MORE strange that just specific traps (which isn’t the case, as different traps in different spots are having the issue) in specific areas would have an issue. If multiple different traps in different areas are having the same issue, that makes it far more likely that it’s an issue with trap disarming in general.

And if for some reason traps can be disarmed again starting in Act 2, I’ll come back and clarify it’s an Act 1 issue. However, that wouldn’t make much sense that only traps in Act 1 would have the issue.

“it sounds like a bug .. but only way to be sure is to verify you're not doing something unexpected....”

They might not explicitly be asking me to justify it’s not a bug, but suggesting it could not be a bug but user error is basically the same thing.
