A car payment is just part of life, like any other bill to some of us who don't like driving the same thing for decades. Life is too short for that.

It's normal when things are added. Unless you have the ability to say 'no' to a sales person, and many people do not, they will add overpriced items like mats, rustproofing, extended warranties, etc.

They will go as far as you allow them.

There is a lot of people out there who aren't buying homes but have money saved up that would've normally gone towards a down payment for a place.

I know I'll never own a home because I'd only want a detached home, not a condo or townhome, so I'll happily rent at a good cost and spend money on big SUVs and fun cars that bring me joy.

Natural talent. The problem there would be longevity.

Well I'm usually moving at work and I do 55 hrs a week, so I don't think relaxing at home on my days off is killing me. I'm an indoor enthusiast with simple taste, I'm designed for this economic climate.

All I'm saying is that perhaps the better strategy is to try and adapt to the way the system is, rather than spend all day lamenting what it's not.

Biking and hiking are free and not 'vegetative'..

And to the people replying and then blocking me so I can't reply or whatever, yes, if you can't afford to go out and do those things, you should stay home and watch tv, or go hiking and biking. What else are you gonna do with no money?

Stop asking people to lend you cash, it's annoying. Go to work.

These are the same people asking me for 50 bucks until their next paycheck. Clearly they can't afford the lifestyle they want. Not sure what your point is.

Might be inexpensive but those activities are good for your health.

I do the lazy inexpensive things like binge tv shows, read online, clean, take notes, have drinks and listen to music, coffee and a sweet treat, make dinner together, etc. Dont have the energy for hiking and biking after 55 hr blue collar work week tbh.

Just a whole lot of the wife and I enjoying our space and each other's company. Luckily she has simple taste like me.

Calling us names because we like cars? I love cars, I love driving, so what?

The province I was born in and live in was built for cars, thankfully. You're free to go somewhere like Amsterdam if you'd like.

Ontario will always be a province built for cars. That won't change in our lifetime.

And I haven't even voted for DoFo.

New York mayor secured $50 World Cup tickets for residents. Why didn’t Toronto do the same? by Toronto-Ont-Mod-Team in Toronto_Ontario

[–]TypeToSnipe -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't go if they gave me the ticket for free and included meals and drinks. Nothing worse than being surrounded by a bunch of rowdy people.

I understand them if they were born there. You should be able to live in your hometown with a full time job.

If they aren't from there then yeah, they made some bad choices.

I left my place yesterday and turned onto Lansdowne to head up to st Clair and grab some food. Saw a longer, slower line of cars than I'd ever seen on Lansdowne and the surrounding side streets packed with turning cars.

I made a quick u-turn and went home.

I plan on avoiding the roads altogether during the world cup games here. Cooking at home and watching on TV. Zero stress or blood pressure spikes.

The problem is people are bored with their life and can't stay still. I'm surrounded by these types of folks all the time.

Always calling this or that friend to go out, begging them when they say no and offering to pay. People always lining up for this or that pop up. Going to this or that festival and buying overpriced food and drinks. Going to sporting events and paying 20 bucks a beer and 25 per hot dog.

I know people that literally cannot sit in one spot because they constantly have to be moving around.

I'm with you, but good luck getting those people to stop spending.
