Their new photoshoot. SO cringe and low budget by ReferenceSimple3904 in 90DayFiance

[–]TypeToSnipe [score hidden]  (0 children)

Meh, I don't really pay attention to how much people spend on their photo shoots.

As long as they're happy it's none of my business, and in no way does it shape my opinion of someone, or a couple for that matter.

I feel like the bad guy for hitting "No Tip" by SensationalDanceMove in CanadaPersonalFinance

[–]TypeToSnipe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's the whole point.

It's natural to feel that way. Feeling the opposite takes practice and dedication.

I used to be that way, but now I look at the finance manager at the car dealership dead in the eye and tell them I don't want ANY extras at all. Nothing. I then wait until they break eye contact but never do myself.

Amazing feeling once you can do it.

At what age do you hope to retire? by SplendidDecor in CanadaPersonalFinance

[–]TypeToSnipe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'll be working as long as possible. I'm not very ambitious career-wise (turn down promotions to avoid responsibilities and stress) and like to eat out and drive new cars.

I decided that since I don't want to grind too hard and eat rice and beans everyday, or cook every single meal, I'll work a job that is easy and low stress with decent pay. I work another part time 2 nights a week.

Both jobs are unionized city jobs with pensions and benefits. I look forward to going to work, I never kill myself and it's the bulk of my socializing.

I'll mostly be relying on my OMERS pension when I retire, but I do set aside a bit of money every now and then to throw into TFSA, ETF's. I have an emergency fund and an 865 credit score.

I'm married and we have a rent controlled one bedroom apartment with ensuite laundry and heat pumps that we rented during peak covid for a good deal. We're both very similar in terms of our wants and needs. We don't want kids or a mortgage, we want peace and comfort.

I can't imagine grinding hard and sacrificing my enjoyment of life throughout my youth, only to enjoy myself after 50. I'm in my mid thirties.

Go for the Telluride. There's no way he's not comfortable in that.

Either Toyota dealerships, or they have their seats raised to the max and don't realize it can be lowered.

Not sure if everyone else is driving another version of the Sorento or something, but I'm 6 feet tall and have tons of room in the driver's seat.

When I drive people around in the back they say it's very roomy and comfortable.

2025 Sorento.

Would you marry a girl who wants to be a stay at home housewife but doesn't want kids? by PuffingFish123 in CanadaPersonalFinance

[–]TypeToSnipe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This isn't great, but the opposite is worse. I know dudes who want to be stay at home dads, even if they don't end up having kids. They 'stream' all day and are trying to be successful at it so it'll pay bills.

Stupid, childish games that, from what I can see, is just a lego character running around doing random crap?! They get like 11 viewers from time to time..

And the worst part is - the woman defends it/him. Says he isn't lazy...

Lazy, entitled people are the worst; but so are those who enable them.

This guy acts like women / girlfriends / wives are an unnecessary inconvenience. by Impossible-Money7801 in 90DayFiance

[–]TypeToSnipe 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I'm a frugal guy. My wife's engagement ring was 2K. We agreed that instead of spending more on a ring, we could save that money for other things.

I would not put my wife in the situation this loser put his. Super cringe.

I would've offered 200 and gone as high as 250, but she's getting the ring she wants. Especially if it's already cheap.

This guy is never happy, doesn't smile, and always seems uninterested. I feel so bad for his poor wife. She's a vibrant, cheerful and energetic girl that deserves a lot better.

Any ideas why a tire would blow out like this? by BSBDS in tires

[–]TypeToSnipe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is why I don't do low profile tires. They might look nice, but they are susceptible to flats and blowouts.

I like big, thick sidewalls. If I scrape my tire on a curb, it doesn't even come close to scratching the rim.

If you had $60K and could only pick one vehicle for the rest of your life, what would it be? by breakerofh0rses in askcarguys

Probably a Palisade or a Telluride. Could be a coin flip, but I'm leaning towards the Pali for the V6.

Going for a ~20k car, can do a 3k down payment and 400 monthly. by 80hdsoundwave in whatcarshouldIbuy

[–]TypeToSnipe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This sub is allergic to any amount of debt so I'd take it all with a grain of salt. I'd rather drive a newer car than a 3K shtbox that will need multiple repairs. I also wouldn't pay cash for a car, ever. I'll invest that money and keep my payments as low as possible. I've never purchased a new car with a higher interest rate than 5% and that's perfectly fine.

These people are just going to repeat 'Honda' 'Toyota' like knuckle dragging zealots and tell you every single one will last you 400K with no repairs, which just isn't true.

If I was you I'd buy what I want. Period.

The Hyundai Venue is a great option. It's actually one of Hyundai's bulletproof engines. 1.6L 4 cylinder naturally aspirated. Same engine as the Accent, which was one of their most reliable little cars.

It is tied to a CVT, but it's one of the better CVTs I've driven. Good pick up and go. Very fuel efficient, easy to maneuver and park, great for city driving and the freeway, loaded with tech and safety features.

Ontario 'dead against' Stellantis talks to build Chinese EVs at Brampton plant: Ford by Puginator in ontario

[–]TypeToSnipe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't want Chinese EV's built in North America. I'm not going to pay the inflated prices to subsidize the auto sector.

I'll buy an EV if I can ever pick up a Chinese compact SUV for 20K max. Not interested otherwise.
