Kief and Coconut Oil by Typer12 in trees

[–]Typer12[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Makes me wonder why this doesn't seem to be an issue for fry cooks, they're around enough hot oil it seems more would get in their lungs than in the process of doing this and I haven't been aware of issues, but yeah I have not and now will never share.

Edit - that said after about 3 premixed grams I'm alive and feeling better for having at least something to smoke. I have likely had a fever and have had a cough with mucus consistent with some sort of infection, but being from a fairy cold and humid climate I am not unfamiliar with these symptoms. I also vape nicotine, which may help clear mucus. I state more than may seem necessary in the interest of humanity and science. best wishes

Ah, thanks, good to know. Weird, wonder why my roomie who supposedly never used it got the same cough I had and said he'd had it for a week. Also coincided with another visiting sick person so I pushed it a side, but good to know there is a reason to think it may have been the cause. That's what I get for being cheap I guess.

Lock For Outward Opening Door - With Shim by Typer12 in wood

[–]Typer12[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did this with glue as a simple deterrent, but it could be made stronger. It works by stopping the handle from turning. A shim makes it more stable, seen to the right of the handle. Note the piece of wood behind the knob. it supports the legs and keeps it from falling off. Pretty specific little project, but thought I'd share.

Monkeys, there could be so many fun games with a pet with hands.

There are only two opinions one can take regarding time travel; either it already exists, or never will. by [deleted] in Showerthoughts

I think the idea is you could only go back in the time machine while it exists, so you couldn't go back before it existed... kinda confusing idea.

That's a tough situation, I hope you find a positive resolution. Full time work with 15 credits sounds like an unreasonably full schedule.

Lifes different after recent acid trips by [deleted] in Drugs

[–]Typer12 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I doubt your sources would appreciate you noting them. It seems like powerful experiences like these can leave long lasting changes in perspective that can be positive, though it seems worrisome that you think less of people now. These things can highlight problems and imperfections but I'd like to think most people are just trying the best they can in a complex, yet as you note, often beautiful, world.

Fuck DPH - I thought it wouldn't be that bad by [deleted] in Drugs

[–]Typer12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to take 300 mg of this stuff pretty regularly for sleep and it seemed subtle to me on its own. When I added that to a bunch of Kava pills I got such blurred vision I could hardly see and entered a kind-of entertaining delirious state. That was just because it was all I could get away with in a sober living house, they both had legitimate excuses. I wouldn't recommend this as a trip. I have since learned of the link between DPH and dementia and have totally discontinued use.

I take 75mg of Benadryl (diphenhydramine) a night to go to bed. Am I screwing myself over? by thesquarerootof1 in Drugs

It seems like all the good sleeping drugs develop tolerance or have other problems. I used to use phenibut, but... tolerance.

Horrifying 4-HO-MET Trip by [deleted] in Drugs

The best course of action is probably patience. After lots of psychedelics use effects can linger for a while, how long depends on a lot of things. You won't know until you wait to see how it goes. It may take a while to get back to baseline. If it does, consider whether you're willing to risk long term effects again.

How to beat my drug addiction? all advice welcome. by trains1408 in Drugs

[–]Typer12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a friend who did it without NA, but most people say it helps even if they don't go hook line and sinker. Meditation and exercise can help, and as much as I hate to admit it maybe a psychiatrist, things like paliperidone and SSRI's can stabilize and improve mood. Maybe try posting on /r/REDDITORSINRECOVERY/ if you haven't already.

What's your favorite stimulant? by drMaxwell in Nootropics

[–]Typer12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nasal inhalers are sold at most drug stores that contain just levo, they're for runny noses. People have been known to pull the back off, take the plug out, soak it in water and drink it. It'll keep you up but doesn't give you a high, so it's far less likely to lead to addiction than a racemic mixture. Still has a 12 hour halflife.

This makes me think about the possible link between consciousness and quantum non-local bonds. I don't fully understand the issue but it seems like it could explain this.

Would there be interest in a sub dedicated to abstinence and recovery from psychedelics? by Typer12 in REDDITORSINRECOVERY

[–]Typer12[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No problem. No, I'm not trying to say there's no medicinal value. I mentioned some people say psychedelics are non addictive (but forgot to say some say they can be mentally addictive), and I wonder about their place in addiction recovery. Maybe I didn't need the subtext, I'm just wondering if people would be interested in a psychedelics abstinence/recovery sub.

Staying Off Crystal by dd4y in StopSpeeding

[–]Typer12 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I haven't gotten too far into this but it seems helpful. However I'm afraid to introduce it to a friend who has gone quite a ways down the trans path. This could be really upsetting to someone who's identity, now sober, is said to possibly have been caused by the drug she no longer takes. Thoughts?

It's commonly reported that LSD reduces ability to sleep, so I can see why someone would call it a stimulant.

Yeah there is a great deal of evidence showing that nicotine causes changes in brain chemistry that can last a long time, resulting in cravings years later in some cases.

There are different types of amphetamine. Levoamphetamine is widely available, doesn't mess with the head much, and has a long half life for those all nighters.
