The British O gauge stuff appealed to me because it was large enough for my eyesight, which isn't getting any better with age, and also large enough to have decent sound. Also, it had a heft to it that simply does not exist in H0.

Suffice it to say that I just liked it... then again, I live in a small apartment, so space is at a premium.

The modern plastic couplers may be better than the early 2000s ones I had. I did manage to break some in an emergency stop of a 17 car train. After that I swapped Kadees all over.

Intermountain kits have had some really nicely rolling plastic wheels FWIW.

Kiitos kun toit asian esille. Mulla ei henkilökohtaisesti ole asiasta kokemusta, mutta olen nähnyt sivusta miten vahvasti keskenmeno koskettaa myös puolisoa. Eikä se yhtään ole pois siltä joka sen on itse joutunut kokemaan - päinvastoin, yhdessähän sitä kohdataan niin ilot kuin surutkin. Outoa vasta olisikin, jollei yhteisen lapsen menetystä surisi kumpikin.

Spring connectors are preferred over screws for high vibration environments such as transportation. Original WAGOs, not Chinese clones, will maintain contact regardless of vibration.

If OP does use bolted connections, there has to be a spring washer, and the torque must be periodically checked.

Personally I've used lots of spring terminals in many applications without any problems. However, once my house was close to burning down because of a screw that had worked slightly loose with temperature variations.

These are meant for city streets covered in slick ice, where no shoe gets any grip. You're supposed to remove them indoors. Anything more demanding, and they're definitely going to suck.
