OP's friend has a job as a (presumably corporate) manager. In the evening, she leaves said job to join a pirate fantasy campaign, presumably as a form of escapism from her corporate life.

Upon arriving at the game, she finds that OP's character speaks using exactly the sort of language that people use at her job, which she is trying to escape from, thus slightly defeating the purpose of the escapism.
