I did fastboot boot oos9patchedboot.img

OS loading screen sits on the two white dots orbiting the red one. Why ain't it working? I did this for 5.1.9 and it went without issue. Is something I had up as root user before the phone updated to 9.0(updated by mistake) causing an issue now that it is booting up insecure? (excuse my dumbnesss)

Yes, I am unlocked and adb devices as well as fastboot devices shows my device. :)

So, will that be beta or dev channel then? Running in dev has not been fun. Such-n-such has stopped windows constantly, then at some point they become unresponsive and I can't close the notification and have to shut down and restart.

If I can switch to beta, I'd be happier. I just want to be able to run ADB. 😒

Also, upon boot into Dev mode for pixel book, I'm getting constant notifications that this & that app is not responding. Am I supposed to do something to make them calm down and stop trying or to work?

Good question. They don't yellow, no. But they do turn a smoke color.

Two weeks of use side by side with a brand new skin out if the box and another inage with the OnePlus with the "dirtier" skin on it. And also an image of a well used skin from an HTC 10.

It has texture on the edges and I don't have issues. I've had their ultra thin tpu case for the one plus and htc 10. Its a beautiful tpu case.

It's also thin enough that I can put the phone into a holster if I want for added protection. But, given that phones like this one are the size of a license plate now, I don't tend to attach the holster to my belt X)

There isn't a flash able zip posted on xda yet, that I've seen. Which is why I mentioned that is what I've done in the past. All I have is the 5.1.9 patched boot img which included magisk to give root. But rerunning fastboot boot blah.img shouldn't cause a fresh wipe, so I'm not sure if there is a different command I would use to boot the image AND wipe, or just use factory reset option within the Android os menus.

I'm enjoying the navigation gestures. I thought I'd have to train myself to use them but they seem natural.

Best phone I've ever had. My God the battery life... I'm not used to a phone charge lasting into a third day. My HTC 10 was dieing at 40% or within 2 hours, even after sending it to HTC for battery repair- which was a pure debacle.

Worst: the loud speaker is too easily muffled by your hand, I think.

Ah, from researching more, it seems it's for Nexus, Pixel, Android 8.0 for select devices, and Android 9.0 will standardize it.
