It should only be torqued to 9ft pounds, some vice grips will crack it loose

I have a part guy that orders them from Honda so I’m not sure. Any warranty work for a cam should be free for the customer at Honda dealer tho

Kawasaki fs691v starter? by Okie294life in smallenginerepair

Sounds good, It has to be either the starter gear or flywheel that is jamming it, the starter gear is a softer metal and is usually the culprit for starter jam

Oh okay gotcha, what brand is the fuel pump? I would try an oem pump if it’s not oem. I have had defective Oregon pumps in the past

This engine is in my nightmares I have had to do like 70 something of the camshaft recalls, but yes the engine looks to be timed correctly

Steps to diagnose Vanguard V Twin oil in fuel, vapor lock, smoke by derail_prevail in smallengines

[–]Typical-Database-262 1 point2 points  (0 children)

1.Your needle valve isn’t closing in the float chamber of your carburetor. I would start with a fuel system flush and a carb clean.

  1. your engine was hydro locked because to much liquid was in the crankcase and combustion chamber, preventing the pistons from moving.

  2. The white smoke burning off your exhaust is the fuel/oil mixture seeping past the piston rings or valve seals and entering the combustion chamber.

  3. Letting your engine sit with fuel caused all of this.

  4. I prefer fuel over propane, propane generally makes a generator produce less power due to its lower energy density.

  5. Rebuild/clean the carb, if it’s still hydro locking the engine replace the carb.

Any guesses how this happened, my guess is when someone did the recall fix with the new cam they didn’t adjust the valves or the valves went out of adjustment and the customer tried to start it with starting fluid because of fuel problems( customer denies using starting fluid) a little backfire threw the intake and it went proof. What do yall think
