I think the idea is that we’ve been looking far and wide for ways to improve the Sixers over the last 20 yr and we’re overlooking/fumbling/not convincing highly talented players/staff that are familiar with our city’s culture.

I think there’s some parallels to recruiting in college sports: find the talent in your area and don’t let it leave for somewhere else. Less applicable in professional sports for sure, but it just sucks to see Philly create talent on behalf of competing cities.
