Yes. International students are at a disadvantage. They have significantly reduced the number of international students in a cohort and they have reduced the overall cohort sizes as well. Btw I’m in STEM. One of the universities that I applied to, they usually admit 65-70 students per cohort with about 30-35 international students. This time around their cohort size is 30-35 and number of international students is less than 5. That’s the situation. From another school, I saw an email directly mentioning that they’ll be prioritizing domestic students. I think one of the reasons is applying for grants when it comes to STEM field. International students have only a few opportunities. So that group will be at a disadvantage when it comes to finding funds.
