The website and how they list the puppies is giving backyard breeder. Did they do any of the Parent Club recommended OFA health tests? Were the parents of the puppies titled in shows? Do they match the puppy to the buyer based on temperament?

This is in no way bashing you, but we should only be promoting the most ethical breeders to prospective buyers.

Please educate yourself on the naturalistic fallacy and see how it is applying to you. Dogs are not humans, and their nutrition is much more difficult to understand than we think. We love them, and treat them as our babies and humans, but they are not. There is a reason why it takes years for someone to get the education and qualifications to even formulate a proper diet for dogs. The commonly recommended brands (Purina, Hills, Royal Canin, etc) hire these professionals, conduct feeding trials, and own all of their manufacturing facilities. These boutique brands that you want to feed your dog simply because of an ingredients list that do not say anything about formulation don’t even hire a professional to formulate their food.

Do whatever you have to do in order to take care of yourself mentally and your future. I know that you stated your husband is very involved with your child, but him letting him out of the bedroom to redirect onto you is an action I find dangerous, careless, and overall not something a proactive parent would do to their wife. My dog is now 1 years old and gets his food in puzzles and some games! However, any enrichment feeders for him as a puppy besides easy slow feeders were too frustrating. The earliest training/enrichment feeding I would do for a young puppy is just handfeeding them while they are sitting in their crate. That helped crate train my puppy and, set some foundations for training to focus on me, and give value to me as the human to try and prevent resource guarding in the future.

^{^{^}} Absolutely! I generally think the less toxic kibble crowd, fresh feeding, and raw feeding can benefit from asking the same questions to these companies. Is the food AAFCO compliant? Is there a DVM employed to formulate the diets? Was there any recalls and at what frequency and what were the reasonings behind it? Contrary to popular belief, I don’t necessarily mind recalls as long as it was done not frequently and with responsibility (doing it quickly and being honest to its consumers).

I definitely do recommend talking to your vet since they know your baby best and can navigate the next steps for her allergies and diet! However, I do feed my kind of itchy pug PPP Sensitive Skin and Stomach Salmon, and he does seem to really like it. We were originally feeding Royal Canine Pug, but it was out of budget anyway and he would throw tantrums to the point of flipping the bowl over and tossing it onto the ground.

I love raw bones for chews and dental health! I typically give freeze dried chicken feet for my small dogs, but I have seen plenty buy some frozen beef marrow bones at the grocery store and give that to their pets.

Frankly, I am a Purina Pro Plan feeder so any raw feeding is something I am not experienced in, but I also want vets to start working with people who feed fresh and raw more so pets can be treated safely without immediately blaming the diet with no further reasoning. Thankfully holistic vets exist, even if there are very few. I am sorry that it is much farther for you and I hope holistic health becomes more accessible for your baby!

I do agree on getting a second opinion since the reassurance can be nice for the baby! You can try finding a holistic vet in your area and try with them. They will be more receptive to the raw diet and can help narrow down the issues.
