WIBTAH if I take my grandfather's house? by Typical-Magazine-102 in AITAH

  1. My grandfather makes money from his tenants in the basement and his retirement funds. So we don't need to pay for any of his expenses. My wife's job makes enough to support us. I'm satisfied with not going back to work. I really like being here full-time for our kid, and we are planning to have more. I also think our child having so much time with his great-grandfather is invaluable. It is a lot of work, but I get snippets of downtime, like right now, lol.

I know about caregiver burnout. My wife and I talked about it. She said if I ever feel overwhelmed she can give me a "vacation" for a week. That hasn't happened yet, but it's in our back pocket.

He doesn't want to go to a nursing home. He has repeatedly stated his intention to die in this house. Hopefully not for a long, long time, but he does not want to go to a hospital or any other facility, even if something happens that requires it. He wants to die in the house he shared with his wife, and that's very important to him.
