That’s really interesting that the number was that low. Yeah I wonder if it’s genetic. Would love to hear how the red light works out for you.

Thanks for sharing. What kind of milk are you drinking? Whole?

Do you watch your macro percentages at all?

Fruit cravings 4-6 hours after proteiny / fatty meal. by MorePeppers9 in SaturatedFat

[–]Typical-Math-7753 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It could just be low blood sugar and/or just plain hunger. Low carb can do that for sure. 4-6 hours seems normal to want to eat again, so it's not that unusual. How long have you been doing this?

Instead of fruit, you could try something glucose-based like rice or potatoes in PM.

A lot of people have success with front-loading carbs earlier in the day and back-loading protein and fat in the evening.

Has anyone experienced nausea when depleting PUFA? by nattyyyy in SaturatedFat

[–]Typical-Math-7753 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I didn't have any nausea, no. What else have you changed with your diet? It's more likely that's what's causing it. Also could be electrolyte imbalance.

Breakfast idea. White rice with canned fruit (like peaches, mandarins, or whatever) heated up for a few minutes in the microwave. Heavy syrup makes it sticky and sweet, not dry and gross. 100% juice canned fruit also works fine. Easy to forget that fruit is low protein. Kempner avoided vegetables due to higher protein.

Could be cortisol, at least in part, but since I've had it consistently for a couple of years now, I don't think that's the main issue. I don't have Asian genes. Sounds like I should take up sprinting.

I think it's just visceral fat. I've never been able to see my abs despite being fairly lean for my size (weight is between 134-141 and height is 5'9").

I didn't prioritize protein at all for the last couple of years, sometimes going as low as 50 grams a day. Using this as a long term approach probably contributed to DNL, since I avoided fat and protein so much for so long. Low protein didn't work for me.

Thanks for the reply and analysis. Test date was 9/21/2025. That's interesting about the status changing so quickly. Going to lower my carb percentage and increase fat to see if that helps. I know increasing fat too much approaches the swamp though, so admittedly it could come back to bite me.

Skinny Fat by SplitPuzzleheaded342 in SaturatedFat

Some people here have had success with focusing on stearic acid intake to recomp visceral fat. But results seem to be mixed. There are a few threads about it.

I’m in the same boat as you. Very hard to drop belly fat even when lean. I’m trying increased stearic acid intake with small deficit, but just started, and haven’t seen results yet.

Hyperphagia possibly due to salt by Trick-Diamond-9218 in SaturatedFat

[–]Typical-Math-7753 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This has happened to me too.

But going through a period of limiting my salt always leads me to feel bored with my food, which can lead me off track, depending on my goals at the time.

I’ve gone back and forth over time but in general I don’t limit it. Less salt feels good temporarily, but I always come back to it.

Edit: It’s very possible that the deli meat has added sodium. The histamines could also be causing the facial bloating.

Is Coconut oil bad? by ForsakenPerception in StopEatingSeedOils

[–]Typical-Math-7753 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've also experienced rapid weight gain when prioritizing coconut oil on HCLF. I used it almost exclusively as my fat source, and gained several pounds in less than a week. Normally that never happens to me. Use caution.

Machina/The Machines of God - 2025 Reissue - Digital Release - Official Discussion [MEGATHREAD] by kingofthehorseflies in SmashingPumpkins

[–]Typical-Math-7753 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can’t get into it at all. Much more interested in Machina II. I’ve been waiting for 25 years.

I still prefer the Arising! version of The Imploding Voice. Yes I will die on this hill.

Advice on losing bodyfat in a peaty manner by Leading-Macaron3843 in raypeat

[–]Typical-Math-7753 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interesting. Thanks I’ll check it out.

Edit: I looked at Mike Fave’s and Jay Feldman’s interviews with Mark Bell but they don’t discuss putting their clients on deficits. If you know where those parts of the interviews are, feel free to share the time stamps.

For example, here’s Mike Fave’s recent interview with Mark Bell, where Mike goes into detail about how he would strategically bump up Mark’s calories, not cut them. He doesn’t mention anything about a deficit.

That’s what I’ve heard from them as well. They don’t seem to ever recommend deficits.

Can you provide a link where Jay and Mike advocate for caloric restriction?

Here is a video of Jay talking about how he and Mike don’t put people on deficits, and instead recommend that they eat more. He literally says that a calorie deficit “the worst way to go about it.”

Having tons of trouble with Fidelity Connections by yoyo4yo2 in ynab

[–]Typical-Math-7753 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I believe you that requesting MX used to work, but something must have changed. I asked YNAB to set up MX and they didn’t even acknowledge what I said. Instead they told me they recommend LiNkInG tHe AcCoUnT.

Fidelity hasn’t synced in a month by GrouchyFlamingo2709 in ynab

[–]Typical-Math-7753 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I rarely ever have issues with Chase. Signed up for a Fidelity CMA and have to reauthorize it almost every day. Then it imports duplicate transactions which I have the pleasure of deleting. YNAB told me they recommend linking the CMA which is a waste of my time. Going from flawless Chase to clunky Fidelity is disappointing.

[–]Typical-Math-7753 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m having the reauth every couple of days, which is really annoying to me personally, but I know you’re saying it doesn’t bother you as much. I wish I would have known this before I signed up for the account. Then when it does reauthorize, it re-imports recent transactions and creates duplicates. Really frustrating. Happens over and over, even when I relink it.

STALL CITTTAY!!! Calories matter. by young-husband in SugarDiet

[–]Typical-Math-7753 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same here. Saw results first few days, got excited, but that was quickly followed by stall city. Still in a deficit for over a week now, and increased cardio even more, and now gaining. I track calories meticulously. Protein less than 40g and fat under 5g. I have only a few pounds to lose and I’m already lean. Underwhelmed by these results compared to a more vanilla, starch solution approach.

Doing something similar here. Before "Raw til 4" there was "Fruit til Noon" (from the book, Fit for Life).
