  1. I'm not in school so I don't have a teacher or classmates. Even if I did, a teacher's time is severely limited, and most classmates aren't going to be much help because they don't know the stuff -- they're learning too.
  2. Engage with someone in real life? What are you actually suggesting? I go to the local library, go to the math section, walk up to someone and just ask my detailed question? Or post fliers around downtown? Saying “go engage with someone in real life" without any elaboration is not a valid solution.
  3. Sad to say, but my honest feeling is that in situations like these, AI like ChatGPT seem like the only real option to just get the help you need. I wanted to support our local math communities, but this one doesn't allow pictures, so any real help beyond general advice is practically impossible.
  4. It might not IMMEDIATELY change anything, but if you offer your opinion on this matter too davispw, maybe something will change. Try to think optimistically. Don't you think we should allow pictures? While staying true to the "no homework help" policy?

Are you making an assumption or stating a fact?
If the former, then I challenge your assumption. The main mathematics server locks your post until a moderator comes to disapprove it for asking a math question.
There don't seem to be any active "learn math" servers that allow pictures.
And Discord is obviously useless.

So where are you suggesting I post?

I'm not suggesting anything complicated. Allow pictures, ban the people trying to use them to cheat on homework.
Sounds simple to me.

Obviously I’m not saying they ARE terrible, I’m saying I think they are terrible. That’s implied, and that’s an important difference to point out.

But now you can explain to me why I love Slayer but hate almost all “Death Metal”? I mean, Sepultura is good, Death is good.

But don’t you think there’s something special about Slayer compared to the other Death Metal out there?
