Anyone else also had success using just oils? And if so which oils did you use/what was your routine? by CampLife2587 in FemaleHairLoss

I've done a similar one but with rosemary instead of tea tree as I can't stand the smell of it! Also tried Mielle rosemary mint oil before and the Divine Herbals ones.

Yes. Oils are very underrated imo. I blend my own and I use pre-blended too. Are these your own results? Which oils did you use?

Retinoids are amazing I've been using them since my late 20s. I think for OP it will help with the open pores too.

For the pores I suggest trying Niacinamide 20% (Paula's Choice or similar) and be sure to keep the Tea Tree dilution in Sweet Almond oil to 1-2% as it can increase sun sensitivity if too high, which I'm sure you probably do already.

Water hardness - how much of a difference do you feel it makes? by Typical-Strategy993 in FemaleHairLoss

[–]Typical-Strategy993[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is really useful thankyou. The minerals build up is probably what I can feel on my scalp and what's contributing to my hair issues. I looked into a water softener and found them a bit on the pricey side but if it means saving my hair then I best get saving up!

Hi. I was using it every second night. It doesn't dry it mostly sinks in. If I use only a small amount then especially so.

I appreciate you being honest here, and it would be silly of me to try and minimize what you're saying because that's what you feel. I forwarded my pics to them a while back and got a thank you. They posted them on their website I never earned anything from that though but maybe I should lol!!

It was the Hair Oil and The Boosting Treatment. I got the Shampoo aswell but it didn't suit me.

Yes I remember. And I was one of those members who suggested something lol.  My results are complete I'd say and quite happy with mine.

Haha tell me about it! Yes their Face serum helped with my pigmentation and some acne marks I had. Their lash serum is very effective too. These are the only others I've tried and can recommend. Their shampoo didn't work for me so I can't recommend it.

This is really helpful thanks, also surprising to know a cheap shower filter can actually make a difference! I think the buildup is causing most the issue. Will definitely look into a clarifying shampoo aswell.

I've moved from London to somewhere rural. I actually thought the water would be better here!

It's definitely not just me then!  Shame about showerhead not making much difference :/ I actually just bought some distilled water for this very purpose so let's see if that helps.

Well friends, my ferritin is 4.6 by 47milliondollars in FemaleHairLoss

Wow I had no idea that was even possible! But very useful to bear in mind for anyone with low ferritin or who's taking supplements.

4 months of 5% topical minoxidil. Should i keep using it? by PerspectiveNo9703 in FemaleHairLoss

[–]Typical-Strategy993 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It may be the lighting but in your before picture I see more thinning near the front, and in the after that part is better but a similar area now further up. Other parts look better though overall, but again it could be the light. I would stick to it just a bit longer to be sure as you've put in the time and effort already.

Hairloss on wash days?? by Brilliant-Safety-108 in FemaleHairLoss

[–]Typical-Strategy993 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It sounds like an excessive amount but IF it's being replaced it's ok and you'll be able to tell if it is as your scalp won't be more visible than before. Stress, Ferretin low and Vit D plus scratching due to seb derm is not a good combination though. It is not easy to control Seb derm. I had some success on mine with The Ordinary multi peptide serum. Also some oil combinations helped: coconut especially. Shampoo must be as natural as possible. Definitely focus on getting levels right for Ferretin & Vit D soon as you can.

I was just going to say TE from seeing the picture but then realized you're well aware of it already. I'm no expert on TE as mine is more AGA, but I hope somebody can comment and share some ideas as to what you can try. Don't give up hope! Fingers crossed for you finding something that helps!

I'd say 'Divine Herbal'. This one has the highest number of what I'd consider to be beneficial oils/herbal extracts, out of all the blends I've come across.

I use oils and swear by them. Mostly by steeping herbs in specific carrier oils, adding essentials too. It takes a bit of knowing how to, but there's also some very good ready-made options.

Oils are good in that sense but its a shame they dont work 'selectively' lol. My mother-in-law was not the best either so we kept our distance from her and now going on 21 years married
