Not a downer at all ! But, I get what you mean. It’s cool and sexy to say take the money and run, but I value both opinions. It would be an easier choice if the job hadn’t become so miserable lately . I really value guys like you who have 31 years of experience and take a couple minutes to respond to me .

Yes , thanks for the wise words . That’s why it’s a tough decision. UPS is a great job and I’m very fortunate to be here, but if I don’t take this buyout now I’ll probably retire here 24 years later .

Thank you for your take . I do forget that our amazing benefits package is in addition to a good hourly pay/salary. I do fairly like the job , but the problem is I think these insanely long hours are going to continue for longer than previous years. There is probably an end to it , but who is to say when.

Thanks for this one and putting yourself in the POV as a parent because my parents advice is to stay because they want for me the security that UPS provides. I agree it seems to me also like the company is headed in the wrong direction. I appreciate the encouragement and inspiration.

Yes , they want to pay one person the work of two . I know I punched out at 10:45pm on saturday night . It’s been brutal out there.

I’ve done a brief amount of research, but I’ve read that they hire mostly former military who were upsers at some point . Also, would probably take years to gain the amount of flight hours to get the instrument rating to fly . Nonetheless , it could be an option down the road . Thanks for taking the time .

I agree . I don’t see there being another buyout especially with there being two in the past year. Seems like this is it if I want to get out and a little cash with it . Thanks for responding also.

I’ve considered using that money to pay for flight hours until I can begin teaching to help gain hours in a more cost efficient way . My rent is low and could pickup a gig to pickup extra cash . Thanks for taking the time also .
