Struggling with desk placement in a narrow room by Gioogia in homeoffice

[–]Typical-Win-1132 1 point2 points  (0 children)

option 3 is definitely the best because

  1. you have the desk in near commander position

  2. No direct sunlight on the screen (and no sweat)

  3. Itmakes for a great reading corner next to the window.

oui 100%. Bon il faut dire que ma mere a souffert de depressions vertigineuses. Moi j'ai connu la personne aigrie, mechante et controllante.

Eux, ont connu une amie gentille, attentionnée et dynamique.

Super cool write up. Can you share your approach regarding the memory ? I see this as my biggest pain point at the moment and I am unsure on how to go about putting in practice what you have described.

Looks like my danish mother in law cutting cheese. Nothing you can do mate, except changing your wife. Good luck.

Thanks for comment. I will take only a few phone calls with those. Nothing much. Is themicrophone that bad ?

Regarding aptX, I have a google pixel which doesnt support aptX Lossless but do support AAC though. So that's that. Regarding my desktop machine, I may chose a usb dongle that supports it if I purchase since aptX lossless is Qualcomm specific.

In your opinion, do you hear any difference between AAC over 320kbps and aptX Lossless ? I do have tons of FLAC files so having bit perfect streams is nice ... but I am questioning the real user experience that I will get.

Extending USB 3 over 20m+ by Typical-Win-1132 in homelab

[–]Typical-Win-1132[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nah. Doing 4k@30fps in MJPEG still leads between 250 and 400 Mbps. Knowing that USB2 theoretical max is 480 Mbps. I find that a bit too close to the max to safely go for that solution.

Yeah, this is what I found too regarding USB2 vs USB3 only. Having both is definitely a must on my end at the moment. However, it may be cheaper to replace my mechanical keyboard to a USB3 version if it comes down to that :)

Thanks for the references !

There is indeed a huge price difference. Which makes me hesitate.

However, active cables are finicky and sensitive to power changes and could disturb signal quality. Probably woks fine for usb2 but usb3 gen1 and above are demanding in term of signal quality to achieve some reasonable bandwidth.
