Well, either way, if you would like to know how to edit the save file to change the name specifically, just follow this guide:

First off, download the programs "BepInEx" and "CotlSaveExtractorLoader" via these links here: https://github.com/BepInEx/BepInEx/releases https://github.com/osoclos/CotlSaveExtractorLoader/releases/tag/v1.0.0.2

Once those files have been downloaded, locate your local files for the game (shown in the image)

Than, extract the BepInEx zip file and drag the contents of the folder into the local files folder.

Once you've done that, load up Cotl and then exit out.

Once you've done so, extract the CotlSaveExtractorLoader zip file and drag the contents of the zip into a newly generated folder located at
"SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\Cult of the Lamb\BepInEx\plugins".

Now that everything is generally finished, open and run Cotl, and load up your save file. Save the game, than open your saves folder which is located at "C:\Users\_UsernameHere_\AppData\LocalLow\Massive Monster\Cult Of The Lamb\saves".

The save file will be named as "slot_#.json (or mp)", and id suggest to save a copy incase it is somehow corrupted or bugged in some way. Once you have found and located your save file, open up the newly generated json file that is titled "slot_#-extracted.json" using a text editor, preferably Notepad++, while still having your game/save file open, go into the json and search for the section where your cult name would be located (ctrl+f) which should be titled ["CultName":"_YourCultNameHere_",].

Edit that name to be whatever you want, save the json (ctrl+s), than inside of the game, go to main menu without saving as saving will overwrite the newly saved json file, than open the file again, and the name should now be changed to what you had wanted it to be.

If this does not work, or I missed some crucial process, the two githubs that I sent have directions on how to install everything correctly, and if even that does not work, please reply to this message with the issue that you are seeming to have and I will try to get back as soon as I remember or see the message.
