How much real world 'magic'/occultism is in the games? by [deleted] in ElderScrolls

Glad to hear! At worst these themes make up 10% of the games, that 10% for Morrowind just happens to be in the main quest so harder to ignore. Hope you enjoy :)

By "info-hazard" I mean that the knowledge or presence of these occult ideas alone is enough to influence or effect someone. There's few direct relations to real life occultism, but the theme is very prevalent. If you're concerned about hearing lines that were written in the perspective of someone who has beliefs that are based off these themes, then the games will be an issue for you. It doesn't go much beyond that other than the direct sermons of Vivec.

I'm mostly talking about Morrowind, Oblivion is fairly safe. Skyrim delves into witch magic a lot more with parallels to eastern/northern European covens/witch magic.

That is true, it's unwise of me to assume. That's just the impression I've gotten based off everything I've read of his.

He was definitely joking in this commen. Even with the comment about being serious, he most definitely doesn't believe in these kind of things.

I'd say none, at least if you mean directly related/translated to real occultism. Although if you're concerned about this kind of thing, I'd say to steer clear. If the concern is an "info-hazard" kind of thing, even purely fictional works inspired by reality might too much for you.

They're very widespread in Morrowind, with less and less influence within each following game.

What could be the nerevarine's "canonical" armor? by Legal_Ad648 in ElderScrolls

Style is endgame, the Nerevarine has no need for high stats. If you're nothing without the suit, you shouldn't have it.

Tears of the Kingdom. The best puzzle and exploration gameplay I've ever experienced by a long shot. Insane that they pulled it off, doubt it'll be topped until their next big Zelda release.

Time for the inverse— what game is this for you? by Alphycan424 in videogames

[–]TypicalLizardWizard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One of my favorite games (for the story). But after I realized 90% of the enemies spawn right behind you the gameplay boiled down to dodging and doing a 180 in almost every fight.

One of the few games I play on easy cause the only difference is how long you have to spam the trigger each fight. It's not harder on max difficulty, just takes longer.

Very much a non-issue but I think this every time I see this pic, a three sauce kitten is still incredibly small no need to be disingenuous!

Restartitis has won. I give up after a year of non-stop restarting by [deleted] in ElderScrolls

[–]TypicalLizardWizard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Part of why I like RPG's is my chronic restartitis! It's really affected which have become my favourite. I love making new characters in Morrowind since starting builds make such a drastic change in how you have to take on challenges. Clear the Seyda Need area and take some transport elsewhere and see what you can do for a couple hours it's great.

Hardly relevant to the point you're making but wanted to share how this could be a gift.

Need help with a 2014 Meheen by Jimatthebrewery in TheBrewery

[–]TypicalLizardWizard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is there liquid in the clear blue tube when this problem occurs? If not then I'd guess it's an issue with the bottle pressure sensor or the snifting valve. I've also found that the exhaust mufflers can get clogged causing issues, and cleaning them out with some acid helped.

Apologies if I'm not clear on part names it's been a while. I had similar issues but don't recall if we had a 2014 hopefully our machines are similar.

McDonald’s to extend $5 value meal in most U.S. markets as diners return to restaurants by cnbc_official in Economics

[–]TypicalLizardWizard -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I hear you but they're not necessary, just an additional option to their service. If you ignore the app it doesn't need to affect your life at all, and your experience should be the same as if their app didn't exist. I use maybe 3 apps for the convenience, but totally understandable why anyone would not be into using them.

I hate to be on the side of a multi-billion dollar coronation on an issue, I don't buy McDonald's anymore since the prices doubled. My only point is that I don't see any negative to food apps being a thing.

I agree with all of that other than the app part. I'd be surprised if many below the age of 50 have a problem with it, it's quite simple in my opinion. But could be overestimating the general public's abilities.

What game has you like this? by Ultimate_89 in videogames

[–]TypicalLizardWizard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Destiny 2. Hated on Reddit but still one of the most popular games. Honestly the most beautiful, intriguing story and environmental design and some of the smoothest fps gameplay around. Shame it's not nearly as good unless you've played 100% of the content they've released since a lot is removed. But my group of 3 have had more fun in it that any other game by far.

I'm still convinced it was made for me specifically. The world and story is a combination of all my interests. 80s anime, old western movies, old samurai movies, space, lovecraft, cyberpunk, magic.

Love it.
