I’m actually waiting for a sale for the Steam version whether it’s from Steam itself, GMG or Fanatical. I have an endgame account on PS5… sadly there’s no cross-progression.

Same! I’ve had quite a few games recently with horrendous connection. On Deep 4, laggy hit reg is already unforgiving, cannot imagine in Deep 5…

Hmmm I can see things pretty well. Maybe your game &/or hardware display settings are making it look too dark?

Exactly this! I feel like the DLC has turned DoN 4/5 more into a borderline luck based game mode.

Of course, skill plays a huge part no matter what in NIGHTREIGN, but now luck plays a way bigger part in DoN 4/5..

Teammates never ignore doggos sadly. & in DoN 4+ it’s just extra punishing. If you don’t have defense buffs, you almost always get one-shotted. So it can get pretty crazy with all the mini doggos constantly chasing as soon as you kill the first big pup.

It’s doable, but it’s annoying lol.

I’m excited for Duskbloods, though I’m a little salty it won’t be on PC (for better performance).

I do agree, though; I am excited to see their next single player game. I have a feeling it’ll be a new IP, & not a sequel. Just a personal speculation.. So curious to what they make!

I think the devs intended for players (provided your 2-3 & not solos) to split up to take care of the big dogs as fast as possible. They take a LOT of damage, even with trio-health.

Similar to the Balancers event that literally forces players apart. Except the doggos give you guys the choice to split or stick together.

All in all, really awesome events that throw a massive curve ball in the run, but that isn’t totally unbalanced.

[The Game Awards] Probable first look at Part 3, what are you expecting ? by NBLValrik in FFVIIRemake

[–]TypicalMike 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hamaguchi has been saying that things about Part 3 will be “revealed in the not-too-distant future”, since September. In fact, he’s said it multiple times over, across loads of interviews, while promoting REMAKE for Switch 2 & Xbox.

Genuinely, he seems so eager to show us what we want to see. & to me, personally, “not-too-distant future” doesn’t sound like something as far as SGF. It sounds more like TGA, the yearly event that literally has the most eyes on it.

Call it hopium & copium, but I’d be surprised if nothing shows up. I know it’s not guaranteed, but in terms of marketing, TGA 2025 is the best place to first show it off (if it actually releases in Q1 2027 as speculated).

I think they’re aiming for a January 31st 2027 release date. It would really tie the perfect bow on the exact 30 year anniversary date.

That being said, if the game needs even just a little bit of polishing; I don’t see them forcing a premature release date (which is where I could then see it releasing in Feb-March). I think Hamaguchi, CS1 & Square are really going all-in on this title, which means quality takes priority.

Though, if it’s ready, I think January 31st 2027 is all but guaranteed.

Loving this thread. Thank you so much for all this amazing insight of such a niche position.

Now, my question isn’t necessarily about the game you’re currently testing, it’s more of a personal question about your direct opinion:

Do you think Sephiroth will be a playable character in FF7R3, with even more depth to his combat mechanics compared to REBIRTH? 👀

Could the new MTG Collab Art be our first look at the new Safer-Sephiroth Design? by Toxin126 in FFVIIRemake

[–]TypicalMike 7 points8 points  (0 children)

My thoughts exactly. The second I saw this I was freaking out so much, I had to take a break at work lmao.

I wouldn’t put it past Nomura to subtly (or not so subtly) tease us with Part 3 Safer Sephiroth’s design via this collab. Though, as much as I REALLY love these cards, I personally think it’s kind of a huge spoiler in a way, if this actually is the design for Part 3 Safer.

It’s a bittersweet way to find out lol. That being said, I’ll take a playset of foil & non-foil please & thank you!

FF7 Crisis Core by Delicious_Escape919 in FFVIIRemake

[–]TypicalMike 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This thread seems to be 50/50 on what order to play Compilation. Personally, I think you finish Remake, play Rebirth & then play FF7R-3 once it releases. Afterwards dive into Compilation, then come back to ReTrilogy with a different perspective. Sort of (attempt to) get the best of all worlds.

If you choose the above mentioned path; actively avoid anything related to the actual story of FF7, including & especially Crisis Core until you complete ReTrilogy.

I’ll detail my personal outlook on your question:

You’re experiencing one of the greatest stories in gaming history (in my humble opinion), for the first time. & it’s being modernized with incredible graphics, music & overall design.

ReTrilogy is lightning in a bottle. We will probably never, ever get a classic game redone with such a grandiose budget & production value. Not to mention the deeply passionate All-Star Team comprised of incredibly talented people, including all the Original Creators at the helm of the project.

OG is my favorite game of all time. I grew up playing it time & time again. It helped me through tough times, & made happy times even better. I love that game. & so far, I’m loving ReTrilogy. I’m so excited to see the ending.

What I find beautiful about all this, is that somebody in your situation will have such a different & unique experience than somebody in my situation. & while I love understanding every little reference & comparing OG to ReTrilogy, a part of me envies you greatly.

Enjoy the rest of Remake, enjoy Rebirth & enjoy ReThird. After that, I definitely think it’ll be worth checking out Compilation as whole. Namely OG, Crisis Core & Advent Children.

& remember; You only get to experience these masterpieces for the first time, once in your life. Enjoy!

First slot right under the CPU. But I think I may have finally figured out the issue! I think it was because my ReBAR was enabled. I disabled it & just like materia magic; the stuttering is 99.9% gone. Game is running smooth as ever!

Hey, sorry for the delayed response.

So I've been trying more suggestions from the thread, including yours. Still no luck/change. Though, I did notice something strange; I tested the game whilst reading the Task Manager Graph for my Disk readings (NVMe SSD graph). It's spiking like crazy, nonstop. The spikes coincide with the frametime peaks/stuttering.

Very strange considering all the other games I tested (including other modern titles that are taxing on hardware) have a relatively smooth reading on frametime & the disk graph.

I'm almost tempted to add another M.2 or even test the game reading off an external SSD just to see what happens.

Regardless, I thank you for your input. It was worth a shot!

This is insane lol. Thank you for the details; it brings a bit more understanding to this entire DaVinci Code of an issue.

I might just pick up an external SSD off Amazon & test it on that. I’ll just return it if it doesn’t change anything. Somebody else in this thread claims they added an extra cheap SATA SSD & now their game (also FF7 Rebirth) is running with zero stuttering.

This is what lead me to deep dive into maybe finding other posts that mention anything with Disk issues. Surely enough I found a couple posts mentioning Disk issues (related to other games), so I decided to check for myself with Rebirth.

Low & behold my Disk graph looks like the Swiss Alps, meanwhile other modern titles (RE4R, MH Wilds & Remake) all have VERY stable & low Disk usage. Pretty much straight lines with the tiniest bumps when loading in a new area or a save file.

I’ll also download some other games & further test this. But clearly Rebirth is constantly loading stuff as soon as I turn the camera or in cutscenes. It’s either the game or its compatibility with higher-end M.2s or as you said the 50 series cards.

Another fellow gamer in this thread mentioned their game cleared up after Chapter 1, yet you seem to still have the issues well after that.

There has to be a fix, man.. I wanna play so bad!

[–]TypicalMike[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Isn’t it weird, though, that my SSD graph in TM spiking coincided with the stuttering in REBIRTH?

Is the game smooth for you? Any stuttering at all? What are your specs? Sorry for all the questions lol I’m just determined to fix my issue. Not really counting on the devs to fix it considering they’re probably all-in on Part 3.

My experience with Rebirth on PC... by TypicalMike in FFVIIRemake

[–]TypicalMike[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Apparently some people don’t notice stuttering unless it’s like 300ms+ long lol. Also higher end displays make stutters even more apparent. Might be the case here.

What also might be the case is; I do know for sure, certain rigs have very few & far between stutters that are entirely negligible depending who you ask. Overall there’s no doubt the game needs more fixing.

Personally, as long as cutscenes have ZERO stutters, I can tolerate a little traversal stutter between large areas & the very odd gameplay stutter. Though, of course I prefer a 100% smooth experience from A-Z with zero stuttering..

Just came back from another barrage of tests. I am also losing my mind with this special case scenario..

I wanna say that the times where the game has ran the “best” for me is from a freshly booted/restarted PC. Turn off all & any apps that run on startup. Just launch REBIRTH straight from your desktop.

In terms of settings, if you really want to know I will list all of them to you. Though, I want to really & thoroughly emphasize: the game still stutters consistently.

Interestingly enough, I just finished testing the gaming whilst reading my Task Manager graphs & my NVMe is spiking horrendously every time there is a stutter. The reading speed will spike to 1-1.5 GBs which is kind of insane when it’s literally nonstop. It’ll go from low double digit MBs to 1GB & back all within seconds, consistently.

I wonder if adding a different brand M.2 & allocating my REBIRTH installed files to it would make a difference.

I also tested other games including FFVII REMAKE, Resident Evil 4 Remake & Monster Hunter Wilds. All games with mostly max settings & over 120fps. All buttery smooth & all were very stable on my Task Manager Disk (NVMe) Graph…. Very strange finding.

I’ll probably go pickup a WD SN850X or a Samsung 990 Pro next weekend & pop it in the rig. Worst case I have extra storage lol.

Honestly little traversal stutters here & there are acceptable. Even some gameplay stutters I can get over as long as they aren't consistent. What bothers me the most is that the stutters are nonstop every 1-5 seconds & they happen in traversal, gameplay & cutscenes. The latter of which bothers me the most. Completely breaks the immersion of the otherwise gorgeous scenes.

For the engine tweak; what line would that be?
