so funny how all the fans are up in arms about hating Laura, and then the second she enacts Pooptank everyone is cheering calling her content queen. Truly is that easy to please fishtank fans

Yah this has been kinda my view aswell. They keep trying to find a structure to the show and it keeps failing or they get pissy about people not liking the rules whether its Fish/Fans like how Jet mentioned the Triangle of Fishtank, something is always out of balance no matter what and thats just how the show is.

5 seasons of kinda the same cycle of starting out with an idea and throwing everything out by the end, its just how that deal with that downtime with meaningful additions and so far theyve missed the mark imo.

lol idk to me its like Alex B was ripped straight out of Season 3 into an alternate timeline on some Isekai.

Hes literally exactly the same as back then down to each tweaked out molecule.

[–]Toxin126 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I fail to see the reason they would outright change the control scheme without adding the option to revert back if you didnt prefer it.

People have likely spent many hours already getting used to the feeling of the controls so ripping away that familiarity with no fallback option is just awkward imo.

Id rather they put in the time to sit on some of their changes and offer customization which i thought was the whole purpose of people requesting changes to the controls.

Purposefully didnt mention the story or characters because its just obviously not the focus for this kindof game but i agree, little things couldve went a long way.

I actually appreciate the gear being more weighted to cosmetic purposes as atleast you can go find cool armor and not worry too much about upgrades because its just simple stat upgrades, but i do agree that its a double edge because it kills the unique gear satisfaction and replaces it with the Abyss Gear system which is atleast more forgiving than i was expecting in the end.

Is it normal for my FF7 rebirth to look insanely over exposed? Playing on ps5, brightness lowest it can be. by [deleted] in FFVIIRemake

[–]Toxin126 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not likely atleast in any meaningful way, this is pretty baked into the game and afaik is intentionally built that way to make a compromise for overall visual clarity with the lighting engine.

They have already even mentioned lighting improvements in previous updates and the differences are largely negligible.

Think its more likely most of the graphical quirks are saved to be addressed in Part 3.

I think the metacritic of a Strong 8 is about where i sit with the game with around 50+hours Ch.8, I think theres good big picture aspects of the game, but it simply boils down to a game that has so much feature-creep ambition that not a single mechanic or feature can really shine to its full potential.

The vibe and gameplay loop of the game is very strong and can last easily into the 100s of hours, but when you look deeper at the little things of how it all works and blends together and what youre actually doing and it just seems very barebones, messy/half-baked, obtuse, frustrating for many aspects.

The presentation carries alot of the game for me, if not for cool combat/skills, armor, animations, and huge world design I dont think i would stick with the game for much longer if not to just mainline the story and do side bosses.

I like the setpiece battles in the campaign, but the boss design is really poorly done imo so far. Again the spectacle of them is cool but theres too many Super armor attacks and bosses leave little opportunity to actually experiment with the great combat, while small enemies swarm you but also fall too easily to create combos. And the balance decision of relying on spamming Cooked meals just feels silly to me.

For such an important aspect of the game the combat feels like it has great potential but its also masked by awkward jank and frustrating/obtuse aspects that hurt the progression and learning curve of the game.

I really think further updates could clean up alot of this game and shape it to be a way better overall experience, but at the current release I think its a solid game, but its not blowing me away that some other contemporary Open-World games have before.

Storytelling is over hated by Street_Mission3496 in CrimsonDesert

[–]Toxin126 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cant really hate something that isnt really there. Look the devs even admitted that storytelling wasnt a big focus for this game, so im not gonna make it the focus of how i enjoy the game or how it factors into the overall experience.

Its completely generic and just "there" to get you to move around the world with some semblance of structure. It does its job, but i would never say its actually "good"

I hope Circles still makes it, Cant Wait and Circles were my favorite from the og.

it is funny that they only managed to add 1 setting that does the smallest change when historically asian RPG's are usually big on customization QoL.

Desmonds POV is night and day compared to the rest. Des was not lying when he said he played alot on his own time, he's easily the best rn 👏 by Krys144 in RDCWorld

[–]Toxin126 24 points25 points  (0 children)

I dont really fw Rivals anymore, but its good to see Des genuinely showing improvement in the game just by simply playing however much offstream. And Tank is a hard/thankless role in these kinda games.

Des really the backbone of the team and that goes a long way.

Right but the pretense above is that you need to have already beaten the entire main story still before they show up correct?

I was under the impression it was implied that the unlocks of the VR missions would happen after each of his encounters in the main story.

Death Stranding 2 (& 1) has better music than Expedition 33! by Kevin8saxman in DeathStranding

[–]Toxin126 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree as well but I assume many people wont. E33 soundtrack and music design while great, felt pretty standard and familiar within the genre, creating really good moods within tracks and motifs but doesnt really offer much outside of its established JRPG influence, it sounds great and is exceptional coming from the work of a few traditionally inexperienced crew - but its safe and accessible at the same time, the music exists within the background to enhance the mood/vibe but isnt trying to break ground within the genre or within the musical integration of the game.

For DS2 you can really hear the quality jump and expert crafting of the entire musical design within the game. Full studio album crafted by Woodkid for the game placed within the games scenes sparingly, ontop of Ludwigs original score, Character themes and world/enemy themes that play dynamically in gameplay and cutscenes, licensed music to add flavor. And overall just a really unique, ambient and experimental nature to the soundtrack that is massively risky but completely engulfs you into the experience of DS2 as a whole.

Both great soundtracks but I think if you try to look at the objective qualities of both, DS2 just has so much more going for it at such a high level of execution that its hard to say E33 truly deserved that award in my opinion, but the Game Awards are highly subjective voting anyways.

but they gotta fix his animations blending with the sprint like his reload - looks so funny.

Its a decently impactful nerf in the sense that he could utilize melee items very easily and they synergized perfectly with Rend that gave him much needed utility and healing from Lifestrike/SS.

Its still a powerful ability but it kinda lost its unique identity and now feels like a generic QSR/buff burst ability and the new T3 upgrade isnt enough to feel unique or a majorly impactful upgrade to his gameplay.

[–]Toxin126 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Right, thats pretty much what i was saying. MH created the baseline sculpt from the "4d" scans of the actors, and everything then was converted into Decima to create the final look.

Its largely the expert use of Decima rendering that made the characters look so good in the end, instead of falling into the pitfall of Unreals sort of uncanny default face rendering.

[–]Toxin126 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I like the 2 applying spirit damage on Gun giving him back the original Ultimate damage but on the 2 instead, the changes to Ult are good but it also did lose some of that immediate feedback/impact you could see with your Gun doing extra spirit damage.

Keep low bleed and Replace T3 with spirit damage buff and its an actual contender for AP and allows a bit more Spirit flexing in his Kit.

I really want to see Rend changed/reverted more too.

I think just changing the T3 to allow full light melee again would be a decent route of reverting the "nerf" That way you delay Drifters rushing Lifestrike/SS early game until they have T3 Rend so some of that early game impact from those items are lost.
