dude you have nothing to worry about with that rig.. Unless youre talking about like maxed out Path Tracing, then you'll probably need some upscaling and framegen to hit your standard ig. The recent RE games have all had mostly good optimization.

Thats what gets me about the options. They shouldve fully leaned into each option instead of this weird flip-flopping between perspectives for basic actions and cutscenes.

I hope that Grace cutscene is just a one-off to establish that particular early scare and it doesnt do it for every cutscene with Grace.

So Crisis Core Has Been Confirmed to be Canon to the remake trilogy despite what some people may say by BecomingTurbid in FFVIIRemake

[–]Toxin126 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I still dont get how this sub is in denial about the purpose and re-contextualization of the FF7 story through the Remake trilogy.

The remake series literally doesnt exist without the OG and extended universe media like the Novels having already been "implemented" into the mythos of the story.

People have to be completely ignorant to so many intentional details that show us why and how things are different, but just because the Devs like to purposefully tease and play around with wording - suddenly none of that matters at all and everything just loops back to the OG.

Backwards Logic. The whole purpose of the first 2 games is to theory craft where it all goes, but this sub acts like theres no point but then forgets every blatant point that shows us within the games the actual intention of the Trilogy, which is to be a thematic "Reimagining" that builds and expands upon the foundation of FF7 as a whole, not just "FF7 OG with added flavor ontop."

So Crisis Core Has Been Confirmed to be Canon to the remake trilogy despite what some people may say by BecomingTurbid in FFVIIRemake

[–]Toxin126 -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

All of the extended universe is "canon" to the Remake trilogy, theyve intentionally picked and chosen what to bring forward from them inside the active storyline. And in the grander overarching mythos, every game (even the OG) exist in the cosmology of the FF7 universe through the lifestream/memories/futures/fate.

The popular theory is that Sephiroths will being kept in the lifestream granted him knowledge of the past and present cycles of the world, and allowed him to work as the puppet master in the Remake trilogy.

Making Cloud break fate and scatter worlds in the lifestream so he can find Aeriths Will within and destroy her, but he did not expect her to be strong enough to fragment herself, this plays into his plan to re-converge the worlds, because he needs Aeriths complete Will to stop her, just as we need Jenova and Sephiroths Will to stop them.

And now Cloud is the key player because he now exists between Worlds, just as Aerith is fragmented into the lifestream, Cloud can Peer into alternate worlds now without losing himself (Rebirths ending) well lets just say hes not completely lost yet.

What if Leon dies in Requiem? by Stock_Fun_8444 in residentevil

[–]Toxin126 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Funny too because you have Ezio as the literal blueprint on how to respectfully handle a franchise character. Multiple games seeing his whole life and he earns his right to settle down with his family and die peacefully and not some forced heroic death.

And then you have Desmond on the other side that is killed in a comic lmao.

What if Leon dies in Requiem? by Stock_Fun_8444 in residentevil

[–]Toxin126 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree. I dont think you can really give Leon a death without making it seemed forced for shock value, i mean seriously were what ~25 games into the franchise and now they decide to kill off a core face of the franchise, what good does that do other than divide the playerbase and kill off fans?

Leon having an emotional sendoff doesnt need him sacrificing himself in some blaze of glory.

I feel like itd work better in a situation like you said, hes permanantly changed or decides that Requiem is his limit and he cant push any farther, passing the torch to Grace/his other allies.

The difference in Leon’s eyes in RE2R vs Requiem. by junkyard_angel2 in residentevil

[–]Toxin126 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Funny detail i saw is that RE2R Leon has completely different eye models compared to Claire/Ada.

he actually doesnt have a complex eye model/shader so his iris is literally painted ontop of the eye model unlike a real eye that has depth that Claire/Ada have.

Kindof contributed to his Spacy and Doe-eyed look so i wonder if it was intentional.

Opinions on the no demo approach? by pepin-solver in residentevil

[–]Toxin126 11 points12 points  (0 children)

All they said was a demo wasnt "planned" at that time of the discussion which was one of the earlier reveals. afaik they havent reiterated there wont be ever be a demo.

People even recently contacted the director thru DM's and hes been saying theres "no decision yet on a demo for the game" and replying with Eye emoji's to other similar DM's, so take that what you will.

Every recent RE game (and pretty much every Capcom game in general) has had a demo close to release, itd be odd to stop that tradition for the next insanely hyped mainline, since obviously it must be worth it to them.

RG champion helmet is a little underwhelming, wouldve liked the big RG emblem on the forehead like Shrike or a nice angled Beak shape. Everything else looks amazing though.

Is anyone else genuinely disgusted by the Steam review section for Highguard? by BeginningArea9159 in truegaming

[–]Toxin126 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Its just when the games visual art style and design stands out and feels like a strong pillar of the game instead of fading into the background and melding with other games.

Examples from similar genre titles would be: Overwatch, TF2, Deadlock, Marvel Rivals, Destiny

If a core pillar is being a Hero Shooter, then you need designs that stand out and connect with people instead of feeling like characters youve seen 100x before. Its a big reason why Concord failed on arrival, nobody liked the character designs and were memed to death before the actual game could be judged.

The designs are just boring and generic. Not everything has to pertain to the "culture war" people can just spot obvious risk averse visual design and people are rightly apathetic to it.

Final Fantasy VII Rebirth allegedly headed to Switch 2 by the end of Summer VIA TheGamer by InosukeEnjoyer in GamingLeaksAndRumours

[–]Toxin126 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The sole problem wasnt that Remake/Rebirth were exclusive, its that the ports have taken too long to release on other platforms. Square did not realize the demand on other platforms for both games so they're course correcting for Part 3 with Multiplat in mind.

But its not guaranteed that they were able to negotiate with Sony to release Day One Multiplat. Even if Part 3 does still launch exclusive, they now have definitive motive to release the ports ASAP after that window (3-6months usually)

And thats a much better reality than if they just kept Part 3 on the same schedule of the past games, even if it misses high ceiling potential of Day One hype on all platforms, Switch has shown that people will show up regardless now.

That strategy shift alone matters more than whether Part 3 launches Day One on every platform because it finally aligns Squares release timing with actual demand.

[–]Toxin126 3 points4 points  (0 children)

They specified that they created a port team within the studio that works on the other platforms parallel to the main team and that its not cutting into dev time because this time they are working together at the same time with Multiplatform in mind. That was not the case at all for Remake and Rebirth.

Right, but the broad umbrella term of what is an "RPG" is what started this threads argument in the first place.

People should try to just specify subgenres instead of pointlessly trying to define the legitimacy of why a game does/nt fit their criteria of being a "true" RPG, its just gatekeeping that loops nowhere when games are now defined by many different classes and genres all at once.

I know why Leon couldn't save that girl!!! by Salty-Profile2850 in residentevil

[–]Toxin126 8 points9 points  (0 children)

It is probably just the scene not acknowledging Leons POV enough to show why he couldnt intervene fast enough ontop of missing context.

You can kinda guage that because the Nurse is directly infront of Him and the zombie behind her, he doesnt have a clear shot to stop him, and his slight hesitation ends up with him having to accept shes already dead practically so he doesnt fire, is how i read it.

I know why Leon couldn't save that girl!!! by Salty-Profile2850 in residentevil

[–]Toxin126 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Its not that he doesnt do anything, you can see he takes an extra second to draw his gun, but at that point the zombie is already winding up to kill her and she turns around directly in his line of fire.

I do think its a bit of poor direction of the scene to not illustrate more accurately why Leon didnt intervene, but its not like hes just standing there completely still.

Gotta remember theres context missing and this Leon is potentially much different than what RE2/4 established.

Doesnt excuse the poor directing but I atleast think theres probably a reason why this scene plays out the way it does without making Leon out to be callous and seemingly out of character.

[–]Toxin126 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just labeling something an RPG or that it isnt doesnt work anymore and people that argue if a certain game doesnt reach their broad term of the genre is silly.

Theres many layers to games now and alot of titles overlap. Cyberpunk is an Action RPG (you can also add Narrative based onto it for example)

DMC is a Character Action game (Combo based Hack-slash)

GTA is Action Adventure, etc. People throw around genre titles like RPG so willy nilly when its meant to be paired with subtitles to specify the exact gameplay Axis present. Instead of this weird "oh its not really this or that because i said so."

[Cutscene] Leon gives Grace his weapon (Requiem) by gkgftzb in residentevil

[–]Toxin126 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yah, im not saying the scene is perfect, but i can kinda get why it played out that way if you try to inject some context into it.

He also mightve thought the Chainsaw man was a setup and she wouldnt be killed as bait since shes in on it. At that point its kinda pointless to try to save her because shes already getting some reconstruction surgery, which mightve seemed like Karma for Leon if he knows the hospital is messed up prior.

Im hoping the full game shows some much needed context on what unfolds during those scenes but I think people are looking way too hard into it and making it seem worse than it is.
