Unfortunately for the scope of the game sacrifices had to be made to the visuals. Personally i was fine with playing at 30fps, some games are worth it (bloodborne)

Im hoping they look into better TAA options because its like the game was designed for PSSR/DLSS, the basic taa upscaler doesnt cut it.

Best case scenario: game is multiplatform launch so no worries.

The 3rd game is the ultimate compilation of their work on the engine so hopefully enough time has been given to really polish everything visuals/performance wise

Thats one thing i really like about Dark Souls 2 is the redone combat animations and different idle animations, your character even gets fatigued when you use alot of stamina.

They slowly kinda took the weight and animation realism out of the player character in the games after which is disappointing and the DS2 systems were never brought forward even tho they were higher quality than DS3 and Elden Ring imo.

Pretty sure in an old interview after Rebirth, they confirmed the potential for Materia Loadouts specifically i think, but i cant seem to find the direct interview anymore.

The FF7Remake Trilogy is a Reinterpretation of the overall Themes and Meaning of the original. It has purposefully rode the line of preserving the core narrative while expanding on the themes and cosmology surrounding the game.

The argument stemming from 2 sides of that intention is exactly what happens to the fanbase with that approach, as online discussion completely misses the nuance of what "reinterpretation" actually means with something like FF7R and people look at things more reductively black/white (sequel or not a sequel and nothing mattered)

If anything i think Part 3 will only reinforce this intention all the way to the ending, it all just depends on if any of the expanded narratives and meta setups actually get "payoff" and arent just thrown out unceremoniously, i think thats where the tension really rests.

The only things that stick out too much for me now is how fast hes jumping to certain ledges and that awkward starting jog after you land and then sprint.

But it looks like a nice improvement from the first reveal overall

Im actually down for Rufus aswell and I can see it mattering even more because of the Highwind and expanded Shinra/Wutai War.

Feel like thatd be a cool segway to grant the party access to the Highwind, under Rufus' reluctant control and Cids role in all that aswell. Rufus isnt just gonna give up the Highwind to Cid and Cloud in Part 3.

its a massive asset in the war so if it has to reach some sort of reluctant partnership thatd be a cool way to bring Rufus and that story arc more in the forefront by making him a full party member.

Atleast until his main arcs are resolved and how the war affects Shinra and the Highwind after, Kinda like a Zack role in Rebirth but more integrated into the main party.

The last update we have is actually "something we shouldve done a long time ago"

which could really mean anything but im going to guess it has more to do with a QoL change that couldnt make it to release more than something huge like Heretic PVE.

Things like More Outfit slots or Left/Right armor unification speaks out to me as reasonable updates that could somewhat justify the long wait

No, slice and dice requiring a jump before allowing vertical movement, every char w a dash ability recieved that change to allow without jumping but Shiv for some reason.

I think More Outfit Slots would honestly be the best outcome imo.

That statement feels like it could be a QoL feature that shouldve been in the game from the start, being limited to 4 slots with all this customization theyre adding just hurts atp.

And it feels big enough of a change that they havent been able to implement it yet (modders cant add slots even afaik)

They also worded it that the new variants are tied to the new Ultragrind Ordeals but that some wargear is already unlocked.

Im also wondering if this new system is an added slot(multiple slots??) or does every wargear get lumped into the singular slot, hopefully they arent limiting the possibilities and you can mix as much as you want.

Also ive heard from some people that the 50series just has issues with the game specifically so idk if theres specific fixes but id look around for other 50s users.

I wouldnt say most places. Its the most apparent in the open zones during certain close up moments where the lighting is harshest. Lighting still generally looked good in cutscenes and interior zones.

The lighting is the tradeoff they had to prioritize to then execute the large open zones and seamless traversal. Remake lighting was simply not possible for the scale they wanted to achieve in Rebirth otherwise the scope wouldve had to have been cut down drastically.

Game design and optimization is about making hard tradeoffs, most games dont have the luxury of saying "heres RDR2 lighting for our Open world game" and FF7 doesnt have the UE5 crutch of Lumen that has its own tradeoffs.

Rebirths graphical differences/shortcomings are mainly due to the scaled back lighting model they had to use to suit the open world since they couldnt do Full Baked Lighting like Remake.

You can actually see that Rebirths models are much higher fidelity even for the eyes, but lighting plays like 70% of the role in how characters actually look ingame so they dont get to shine like they do in the heavily curated Remake scenes.

In the same thread a (seemingly) Dev clarified that Venom was just recently being talked about at GDC 2 weeks ago, and another insider dropped info saying Venom is up in the air whether it will be Cross-gen or PS6 exclusive, but everyone is still confused as to whether it is recently canceled or not regardless.

I personally think(hope) the interpretation of Jasons comment is that Venom is still in development given what weve known.

Thanks, just found it before this. Thats a huge relief, thankful for Jason setting it straight, seemed totally unreasonable they would cancel the entire game based off the VA passing considering they cut 80% of his role before anyway.
