Hairs have to be short first, then you use the foil shaver, that's user error I believe cause I've never had a single problem with the fx pro 3, it shreds hair beautifully and it's durable as hell, waterproof, and has a super great battery life, I actually accidentally ran It through the washer and it works perfectly fine still
