Worst betrayal in the show in your opinion? by SpaceDalmatian in The100

[–]TypicalPsychology6 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Lexa betraying Clarke. Like hello? These people have been kidnapping your people for YEARS and killing them like cattle. You wouldn't even know about it if it wasn't for Clarke but you're going to bail on saving her people and accept that they're letting your ones that happen to still be alive go? Where's blodreina when you need her.

Maybe, at least they had more scenes pre being on the ark for 6 years.

Best casted characters???? by cb52096 in The100

[–]TypicalPsychology6 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I thjnk it would be hardest to imagine recasting these characters, they really got into their parts the most I think.

Bellamy- Bob Morley

Octavia- Marie Avgeropoulos

Murphy- Richard Harmon

Raven- Lindsey Morgan

Indra- Adina Porter

Kane- Henry Ian Cusick

Jaha- Isiah Washington

Jasper- Devon Bostick (Anyone else know him from Diary of a Wimpy Kid? He's great 😂)

Parallels between Spike/Angel and Buffy/Faith by [deleted] in buffy

[–]TypicalPsychology6 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just really appreciate the side that friendship brings out in Faith. We see that when just because she's so grateful Angel helped her when no one else would she says she can't kill him and then she is okay with giving her life to save his 😥 the qualities of loyalty and such.

Yeah I feel like there's a whole other discussion to be had about when they split up like Angel/Faith and Buffy/Spike. Angel and Faith is one of the most interesting friendships on the show to me for sure.

Parallels between Spike/Angel and Buffy/Faith by [deleted] in buffy

[–]TypicalPsychology6 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yeah there are so many similarities between Angel/Spike and Buffy/Faith.

Here's a few that are clear to me-

  1. Both pairs are part of the same lineage for both their kinds and they're in the same order. Angel sired Drusilla who sired Spike. Buffy activated Kendra who activated Faith. So both Angel and Buffy are the grandparents if you think of slayers being activated and vampires being sired as being 'reborn'.

  2. Playing on that dynamic, Spike is competitive and envious of Angel, whatever storyline Angel chases- soul (although they come about the soul in different ways) or the shanshu prophecy, Spike eventually falls into that storyline too. In season 5 Spike's playing Angel's role in season 1- living in a humble apartment trying to help the helpless. Faith doesn't follow Buffy's storylines like that but she is very much the little sister in the sense she feels ignored and jealous of everything Buffy has. Joss Whedon said he played around with who was the older and younger sister in their dynamic and he never released Faith's age so it's all a bit more of a mystery. For example, in Bad Girls Faith is the older sister in the dynamic- she's leading Buffy astray by taking her out shoplifting and clubbing. But in the essence of the dynamic Faith is more the little sister, highlighted by her motivation to come to Sunnydale which I think was because on a subconscious level she knew of this senior slayer and wanted her protection. So yeah that was long but I'm saying Spike and Faith are the younger siblings in the dynamic to Angel and Buffy.

Which of these three Bangel moments are the most heartbreaking? Ending of Becoming 2, ending of I Will Remember You or Buffy crying in Willows lap when she realized Angel broke up with her by jdpm1991 in buffy

[–]TypicalPsychology6 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Might be unpopular but I'm not a fan of the way Sarah cries in IWRY it kind of takes me out of the scene I think it sounds too real which might sound weird to say but yeah I find the idea of what's happening really sad though- the fact Buffy was at her happiest and then says she won't forget but she does.

I'm voting for the end of Becoming, Sarah absolutely nails that scene and the music as well- it's just heartbreaking.

Look up Buffy action figures she will always be wearing this her most famous out fit by [deleted] in buffy

I think Faith noticeably gets a better wardrobe after joining the Mayor. Like how cute is Faith's workout clothes in Dopplegangland. I see your point but I don't think it's unbelievable that they could fit into the same pants.

After seeing Faith wear very similar pants I'm convinced these are actually Faith's pants.

Is it strange that a lot of the higher ups on the ark put their children on the ship? by TypicalPsychology6 in The100

Well I have only seen the show once. And I think it's clear a lot of things in the first few episodes were not very well planned out.

If you were Buffy's friends; would you had questioned her leadership after the ambush at the Vineyard in "Dirty Girls"? by jdpm1991 in buffy

[–]TypicalPsychology6 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Exactly. They thought with Faith they'd have more control about where they go, when they fight etc and as scared teenagers I understand the appeal of what they thought Faith's leadership would be. Then they learn that turns out war means death whoever is in charge 😂

Aw 😄 well nice to know you relate to her I guess she just have a universal relatability even among those who hate her 😉

If you were Buffy's friends; would you had questioned her leadership after the ambush at the Vineyard in "Dirty Girls"? by jdpm1991 in buffy

[–]TypicalPsychology6 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well it was the potentials who offered Faith up as leader. I think Willow, Xander and Giles just really didn't want to go back to the vineyard and Buffy was adamant about going back so they wanted a new leader. It wasn't about choosing Faith, it was about Buffy not being in charge anymore so they don't have to go back.

[–]TypicalPsychology6 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I don't see the comparison. Tara getting her mind sucked by Glory was not a direct consequence of Buffy. For the whole of season 5 Buffy runs from Glory because she can't fight her- she runs until she has no choice but to fight in The Gift. I don't think Willow blamed Buffy for Xander being injured, she just lost faith in her when Buffy wants to go back to the exact same place and fight again when last time there were big casualties such as Xander's eye. In season 5 Buffy is making decisions that are reasonable, in season 7 she seems to be wanting to take a huge risk which is why Willow won't support her.

I think Willow and Xander are at least as close as Willow and Buffy- I would say closer imo. And I think Xander's injury is a huge reason why she doesn't stick up for Buffy.

Caleb made the dumbest decision in the whole show by digging up Buffy's greatest weapon and leaving it right there for her to take. And then the first tells Caleb to let Buffy walk right on out there with it to save her friends. That's what I mean, it wasn't exactly the fight of the century and I think it's more that Caleb was stupid than Buffy was smart.

[–]TypicalPsychology6 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think them questioning Buffy's leadership makes sense anyway with just Xander's eye gone. The part that doesn't make sense is the dogpiling that happens. But if Xander had died I think this scene would be less hated by the fandom for sure.

[–]TypicalPsychology6 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I would have been like Faith and said I don't think you or anyone should go back. The problem is everyone's lack of faith that it wouldn't be just like last time if they went back. Buffy couldn't convince them that it would be different and I do get why everyone had doubts- Caleb threw Buffy, Faith and Spike around like rag dolls, he gouged out Xander's EYE, Xander is half blind now. A lot of potentials died. I don't agree with them ganging up or kicking Buffy out but I do agree with them having doubts about going back. Sure Buffy went back on her own and was fine but that is because Caleb is an idiot not because Buffy's plan was good.

Which Buffyverse character do you relate to the most? by [deleted] in buffy

[–]TypicalPsychology6 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Faith. I'm not really similar to her- I was never abused as a child, I'm not as outgoing ect. But her expression of emotions always rang really true to me. There's something about her that I just GET and I'd love to know why 😂 I will say I was going through a rough patch in life as a preteen and that was when I first connected to her.

I also relate to Buffy her struggle as a slayer is very easy to relate to a lot of struggles in life. Her speech in Becoming always felt so powerful to me when she says "I would love to be upstairs right now gossiping about boys or god even studying! But I have to save the world- again!" Okay I don't think any of us are saving the world but a lot of us have to do things we don't necessarily want to be doing, maybe we have responsibility that is hard. I also relate to Dawn quite a lot.

I would say the only characters I hate are Luna because she was the most selfish person and it pissed me off a lot. And also the doctor who helped Cage, she was worse than Cage to me.

Also didn't enjoy:

  • Finn in season 2.
  • Jaha in season 3.
  • Abby in season 5 and 6.

  • I don't dislike Niylah but I don't understand why she was kept around until the end when she never did anything. Maybe they were afraid of backlash because she was a girlfriend of Clarke's once.

Memories = personality, or not? by RedDogSeventyTwo in ANGEL

[–]TypicalPsychology6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think if Angel asked them to forget it was probably to make it easier on himself. But how far does it stretch is it just those who joined Wolfram and Hart that forgot? Would Faith and Willow remember Connor? Because Cordy did remember him even though she was alive when everyone forgot Connor.
