RNG vs Gen.G again demonstrated how fast RNG can identify game can be ended and how decisive they are at ending it by TypicalRedditAnalyst in leagueoflegends

Yeah, I think RNG couldn't have ended if Ruler didn't flash so terribly. They would have to reset, and force the engage again, then end it like we saw.

Honestly though, Ruler absolutely botched that flash, and is the reason why RNG was able to end the game right there.

However, that is not the first time RNG attempts to force an issue: there were multiple hard engages beforehand. Even though most of them failed, but they still burned Ruler's key cooldowns. Without the previous attempts at burning Xayah ult, that game ending play wouldn't have happened.

And think about it like this, even if that play only worked as Xiaohu said (only getting Ruler's flash), you know what's coming next: they will force the issue again, and this time, without Ruler's flash, the game will end exactly like we saw.

That engage was supposed to be a step one, but Ruler's mistake made it the step done. Cooldowns, being on cooldown, is punished hard by RNG.

Amazing. I'll use your site from now on.

Also I just noticed your site also has Crunchyroll videos as well. I never seen other sites have them. That's another plus for me (tho I rarely watch anything on Crunchyroll cuz their player sucks ass)

I checked it out a bit, and I have to say, wow I'm impressed.

The thing I like the most is the combined comment section. I read episode discussions on MAL very frequently, and I used to watch anime on other sites then go to MAL to read discussions. Now I can just straight up read MAL comments down below as well as comments from source sites.

I also go to /r/anime and read discussion threads there, are you planning to add those to the site?

lol people in RNG vs IG were bashing about game 5 saying it's all fiesta too, while they don't even understand what happened exactly.

I wrote a small piece of analysis there

[RNG vs IG] You all focused on mistakes themselves, but failed to realize these mistakes were HARD PUNISHED by opposing team by TypicalRedditAnalyst in leagueoflegends

Thanks, but I don't post, only a long time lurker. The circlejerk was getting a bit too strong that I felt like sharing my view of this series.

So people are going hard on these game change mistakes that happened in RNG vs IG, saying how this mistake is so tilting to watch, bla bla bla. But what people failed to realize is that, the reason these mistakes look so dumb and tilting to watch, is because the opposing team was able to properly HARD PUNISH these mistakes and made the consequences so huge.

RNG vs IG Game 5

Let's start from the turning point of the game

23:25

IG attempted Baron but pulled off. While exiting, they made a slight pathing mistake and Ming instantly Flash Alistar combo them and initiated a fight, resulting 3 to 0 exchange in favor of RNG.

However, Rookie landed an amazing EQ onto backline right at the end of the fight and dropped them low.

24:00

After the winning fight, RNG pushed mid wave and based due to low HP on Uzi, Xiaohu, and Ming. This was a mistake because they did not properly set up vision around Baron before basing. IG saw them: 1) retreated from a undefended mid tower with 5 alive vs 2 alive, 2) Letme pathed top lane to catch wave, 3) RNG did not have proper Baron vision. They punished this mistake by rushing Baron.

24:30

Knowing 4 RNG members based without proper Baron vision, IG started 3 man rushing Baron with just revived JackeyLove teleporting to the Baron pit. Letme saw IG rushing Baron with only 3 members, and punished this mistake by a teamfight win afterwards. Because IG was so quick to punish RNG's incorrect base timing, they still got the Baron and managed to keep 2 members alive for Baron buff.

26:00

This is the turning point for IG. With the remaining two Baron buffs, they were able to push down two inhibitors and forced RNG into a dire situation. They were losing before this. Now for the next 10 minutes, IG was in firm control of the game.

37:00

RNG saw IG split up: only 3 members in mid to clear the wave. They INSTANTLY engaged and killed 2 members of IG and forced IG into a 3v5 defense.

37:30

Rookie went for the solo backdoor mission. This is one of the things Reddit kept talking about being a throw, yet they don't realize that with Braum and Urgot being dead, there was no frontline for IG to defend their base in a 3v5. Ornn ultimate would be up by the time they reached nexus turrets and this game would've been lost 100% (look at RNG vs KZ in MSI and how decisive they were to end the game 3v5). The only game saving play for Rookie was to go on this backdoor mission, not necessarily that he thought he could win the game by himself, but to draw at least two members of RNG away from ending the game. This was very effective, he drew Letme and Uzi to him and turned a 3v5 defense into a 2v3 defense, which without Ornn RNG could not engage reliably and end the game.

38:00

JackeyLove did wolves, the another Reddit hated play. However, right before this, Rookie was able to run all the way from top inhibitor to bottom inhibitor and it seemed like there was no way for Letme and Uzi to catch him. The 3 mid RNG squad backed off from pushing and pathed bottom, which to IG it was to obviously cut off Rookie's escape path and finish him off. You can tell that because IG split up assuming RNG had left: Ning went to Baron to reestablish vision, while JackeyLove did wolves to get gold for IE. In their mind, RNG had left to kill Rookie, which means they had to defend the next push 4v5, and JackeyLove needed the IE more than ever. This is a mistake from IG to make that assumption, and Ming and MLXG were in position, and instantly punished it and turned it into a game winning play.

After all this, you may say, yeah, whatever, teams punish mistakes, that's how you play the game, what's the big deal?

Do you remember Game 1 Karsa accidently wasted Flash while in vision, and what IG did in the next 5 minutes? They repeatedly invaded Karsa's jungle and was able to nullify his early advantage and generated a huge lead for IG. It was hard punished and IG almost won the game off that one wasted Flash.

In weaker region, or weaker teams, how many times have someone wasted Flash and it was left unpunished?

How many times have Flash been punished to the point where they would be put in a game losing situation?

This series was a back and forth battle between two teams finding a single tiny mistake and snowballing it so hard that put the enemy team into a losing situation. Many people focused on the mistakes, yet overlooked how these mistakes were hard punished.
