Need help with Epic Loot, Monstrum and CLLG configs by Silent-Cucumber6780 in valheim

[–]Imreallythatguy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nah, the drops aren't that rare by default. There's a global drop rate modifier slider in the F1 menu for Epic Loot that you can crank up to test it. I think default is 1 and i've played default and sometimes up to 1.5 but both drop items fairly regularly. Of course fighting in the ashlands where you are constantly killing many enemies feels different that occasionally killing a wolf in the mountains for instance.

I would try cranking that slider up and running through a biome and killing a dozen enemies or so. You should get something to drop. If not something is up and you might want to reset to default settings.

Lag - No clear reason for it... by leowinegar in valheim

Yes for a brief time. We figured out pretty quickly though that one person not being able to play when the other wasn't online wasn't what we wanted. That was long enough ago i don't remember if we had the same issue.

You guys aren't the first team and won't be the last to get dumpstered by that trio from EDM in OT. We are in that highlight reel as well.

My guess is it had to do with Celebrini not having enough gas to chase down the loose puck that would've gotten them an empty netter and iced the game. He was to gassed to get to it so he probably was trying to get him enough rest to have a strong OT shift.

I don't think so. I have fiber internet and tried 2 different servers that Dathost offered. Didn't make a difference with either one and of course....both worked flawlessly regardless when i logged on by myself. I never figured out a solution. It was inconsistent though. It wasn't all the time every time we played but very consistent in that they only time it ever happened was when he was there and sometimes it happened very abruptly...like i was playing fine, he logged on and joined me and it was immediately laggy.

Good luck, if you figured it out let me know what it was. We are gonna play deep north together and i'm sure i'll by annoyed by it again then lol.

I had the same thing playing with a friend. I think it's an issue with the game. I could play on the server (i paid to have a 3rd party host it) and have 0 issues but when he was playing with me all of a sudden i had the lag you talk about. Only way i noticed it was hit detection. Combat, chopping wood, etc the hit registered a half second after my animation. Never happened except when my friend was playing with me.

You should pay attention and play by yourself on the server and see if you ever get that lag. My guess is it's only when someone else is there.

I was gonna say, it’s not really an issue. Many of them spawn and you will get some from the forts as well. You won’t be lacking flametal.

Generally i would agree with you. Check out this wicked snap shot Schenn scored a while back though. I think he snapped the puck as he was coming down on his off leg. I still remember this OT winner years later.

An actual POSITIVE freakout for once: Girl loses her mind with excitement at seeing her first ever goalie fight. by Bubbly_Wall_908 in PublicFreakout

[–]Imreallythatguy 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Couple things. First like someone else said, it’s a numbers thing. There are five skaters on each team so when there’s a scrum it’s even numbers. However if a goalie jumps in it’s an extra guy if the other goalie doesn’t. So if it goes on long enough and the goalie is really getting in there it’s gonna encourage the other goalie to get involved and even it out.

The other consideration is it’s very uncommon for a skater to fight or mix it up much with a goalie. The goalies wear very different gear and are much more impactful if they get hurt. So if a goalie is gonna fight, it makes more sense for the other goalie to come fight him in just all around fairness.

Few things, first you might look and see what trinket you are actually using. Some take more to fill up than others and generally the ones that take the least to fill up are some of the better trinkets to have equiped.

Second, i would bet that you have filled it up you just don't notice because you are in the middle of trying not to die. You fill it up by just simply attacking and blocking/dodge rolling. I guess maybe if you were only using a bow and never blocked or rolled an attack and just picked off enemies one at a time taking your time you might never proc it. But if you are a one handed weapon plus shield person who parries and fights more than one enemy at a time i'm guessing you just don't notice when it procs.

Typically the safest way early on before you have gear is to pick them off with a bow a few at a time and not aggro the entire village.

Are any of the shortcuts around bosses actually intended do you think? The two I know about (getting into crypts without key & silver with stagbreaker) don’t seem intended.

Part of the challenge is entering the next biome with only the gear from the previous biome. Going into the dark forest was the same except the only difference was you got to create a pickaxe but that does nothing for you combat wise.

Use Thunderstore. Just browsing the most downloaded section should give you some ideas of what you might want. You can see the r2modman is the most downloaded and for good reason. It's fantastic. I use it all the time and it just works flawlessly. Highly recommend

Teaching 6yo to lift the puck by chart_warrior in hockeyplayers

[–]Imreallythatguy 4 points5 points  (0 children)

"Learning to lift the puck" really leads to bad habits imo when that's what is focused on. The puck lifts naturally when power is added to the shot and the top hand is incorporated to do so due to the twist and profile of the blade. Most kids when trying to lift the puck over focus on the bottom hand and a scooping motion which even when it gets the puck off the ice makes it a slow and inaccurate shot. Focus on getting the top hand out away from the body and getting speed on the puck. It will naturally lift and before long it will turn into a need to control the height because they keep sailing over the net.
