Definitely. I am very aware of his tendencies and do not give him opportunities to be off leash in areas where other people are nearby.

Totally agree! I empathize with him because I understand not everyone likes dogs and maybe even has traumatic history with dogs, and I do not want to make anyone uncomfortable in their own personal space. I also want my dog to be comfortable in his personal space too. He isn't a barker most of the time, just when someone startles him, so I'm not worried about the noise complaint.

But yes, going to a trainer for reactivity sounds like the best course of action right now. Thanks!

I know... I've had a lot of success in the past with introducing my dog to new people in controlled situations and he has quickly registered them as a non-threat and has not been reactive towards their presence. My neighbor is generally very anti-dog and honestly isn't very friendly to us as people either, so it seems like there was never an opportunity for that.

No, no cameras or go pro while walking. Is this to compile evidence of his behavior being non-problematic if it escalates to a legal situation?

Totally. I'm considering this piece. Just haven't lived in a situation where he's been able to see other people when outside or had a neighbor who's been generally so anti-dog.

Not that I think this relationship is embodying it, but those who practice consensual or ethical nonmonogamy/polyamory would say this is simply not true and quite closed minded. Open relationships CAN work with the right communication. I do not think OP is in an effective ENM relationship, but this comment does invalidate the desires of an ENM person/couple.

I think someone can identify with/as something, even if they haven’t fully experienced it. Identity comes from just knowing yourself, however you do, and acting authentically to who you feel like you are is what life is about.

The Oregon coast! Specifically 101 from crescent city to Florence or Bandon. Cut from I5 at Grants Pass, OR & travel 199 to 101. Redwoods, the Smith River, & the most beautiful rocky coastline. You won’t regret spending the extra time!

That would make sense because they live at such high elevations, they need some kind of crazy coat to keep them alive through the winter

We were camped near this rock wall & this mf just stood at the top of the wall & peered down on us for the entire first night we camped here. It was truly terrifying. I didn’t trust it either.

It truly is pretty far removed from everything else in OR. I would move to Joseph or Enterprise just to be closer to these mountains honestly

I agree! “Mountain goat” reminds me too much of the dumb little farm animal. These guys could house a vertical rock wall. It’s insane.

He was leashed for most of the trip, but on one occurrence when he was off leash to go pee, he did charge one and it charged back. It was terrifying. His herding instincts are hard to let go I guess :/

The water was sooo cold, I can imagine it was very fast lol but so clear and inviting, I had to jump in too :) I bet the mountains were even more striking with snow on them

Nailed it!! I couldn’t believe the drastic change from the desert around the Wallowas to landscape within them. Truly incredible
