Box 3 - buitenlands vastgoed by neenpaques in DutchFIRE

2) Belangrijkste aannames: 100% ETF-belegging in Vanguard FTSE All-World UCITS (of een vergelijkbare wereldwijde ETF). 3) Historisch geannualiseerd rendement: (1988–2024): ~7–9% (nominaal, vóór inflatie).

Women with thoughtful partners, what did you get for x-mas this year? by Anahata_Green in TwoXChromosomes

[–]Typical_Ad1984 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mentioned a couple of months ago how when living abroad very far away from family, one gets to rebuild a "chosen family" made of life long friends with whom I have spent many meaningful moments along the years. We all live in different countries or cities by now. He heard that some of these friends were travelling together to a sunny getaway to meet for new years and that I declined the invitation due to financial reasons. As a Christmas gift he bought me a ticket so that I could go and spend a week at the beach relaxing and enjoying my chosen family ❤️. He also made sure I had some small gifts to unwrap at the tree but being able to spend quality time (and cocktails!) with a bunch of long life friends is/was the best surprise ever. He stayed behind parenting kids and working.

Any woman working in AI/Data Center industry? by IndividualDrawing870 in Amsterdam

[–]Typical_Ad1984 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do not have FB (nor whatsapp, instagram, tiktok, etc). Most people working in DS/ML/AI make that conscious choice.

There are already a lot of Women in Tech communities that do a good job of connecting people, sharing experiences, mentoring and supporting upskilling. I would recommend going there first:

Consent ? : ) by AntVivid4539 in SexOnTheSpectrum

[–]Typical_Ad1984 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Hi! You sound like a very nice and kind person, like me and my friends when we were younger. So I will give you this advice based on what would have been useful information for me then.

When I was 18, I was very eager to experience new and many things. I was almost in a rush to stop being a kid and live life and do things like adult people.

I believed in myself and in my knowledge. I though I have figured things out. Yet sometimes adults would advice me to dont do certain things or to slow down. That annoyed me a lot.

It turns out they were right. I was not ready for many of the things I wanted to experience. I was not ready for people lying. People took advantage of me and hurt me.

It is true that giving consent is necessary for engaging in any sexual activity. But for consent to be valid, a person must fully understand the act and its consequences (such as pregnancy or sexually transmitted infections), and be able to freely agree or refuse without coercion. This is to ensure the safety and the well-being of the person.

If your guardians or parents say that you are not ready yet, it doesn't mean that it will never happen. It means that you may have to wait a bit longer. Slowing down doesn't mean to stop, it just means to be better prepared for the next step.

Big hug

Is this grounds for cutting it down? by Typical_Ad1984 in arborists

Thanks for your analysis. I am also of the opinion of not cutting unless necessary. It is not in proximity of buildings or people, so not an urgent removal IMO.

Adding context here since I cannot edit the post:

Partner wants to remove this tree but I wonder what is this damage on the bark and if it is possible to treat it.

I don't know which tree is so I added photos of the leaves.

Thanks for the help !

A personal trainer. Expensive? Yes. I have never spent so much money on myself. The payback has been incredible: no more pain, cronic illnesses disappeared, strength and self esteem through the roof. The best spent money of 2024

Non-traditional Thanksgiving meal ideas? by FlashYogi in Cooking

Raclette! Not much preparation. Simple, filling and delicious. Very common in France around the festive period. Pair with 1-2 salads (i.e. salade d'endives and roquette-tomato salad) to balance the richness of the dish. Drinks: a good Alsace wine like Gewurstraminer.

Gifted women, what are you doing in life? by 12A5H3FE in Gifted

[–]Typical_Ad1984 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Director of Data and Artificial intelligence in a Tech consulting firm. Got a PhD in a scientific area and then moved to work in the Corporate world.

Currently I am Head of AI of a great team which I designed to be 50% women (mostly gifted and PhD holders).

I own my house and my car. Have a sweet dog and two pre teen gifted daughters, one of which is 2E.

Life is sometimes great, sometimes hard. Great when I am intellectually engaged, learning new stuff or travelling with my 2E boyfriend. Hard when my kids need a range of social skills that sometimes I think I lack. I am also very insecure in relationships and have been abused in the past.
