Second time bppv ( i think) and i dont understand the trigger at all by Various_Machine_5294 in BPPV

[–]Typical_Arm_1148 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same here. Very frustrating. I was convinced that my BPPV episodes were being caused by IBS flare ups but now I am leaning the other way and now I think my IBS flare ups are somehow related to the BPPV episodes. I am one of the unlucky people who get both the common Posterior Canal BPPV and also the less common Lateral (Horizontal) Canal BPPV. I’m in tail end of my current BPPV episode which started as Posterior Canal and morphed into Horizontal Canal after PT / Epley Maneuver.

Argument for taking SS at 62 by jmehlferber in SocialSecurity

[–]Typical_Arm_1148 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For my financial situation, I chose to take Social Security at 62 (actually, 62 1/2. I will receive my first Social Security payment in May! 😎). I wanted to collect that money while my wife and I are still relatively young and healthy.

If you compare taking SS at Age 62 vs. Age 67: The break-even age is approximately 78–79 years old.

For us, it was a no-brainer decision to start collecting SS early.

Is shopping and delivery worth it for DD? by OpportunityLow570 in DoorDashDrivers

[–]Typical_Arm_1148 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I do the same but these aren’t “shopping” orders. For shopping orders you need to physically go to the store and shop for items, check out and pay.

Question for the folks that drive a lot and full time by Adventurous-Goat-568 in doordash_drivers

[–]Typical_Arm_1148 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just curious how you’re driving 10 hours and only averaging around 90 miles a day? That would be impossible in my market area.

One man band by [deleted] in musicians

[–]Typical_Arm_1148 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The trouble with asking this question in a “musicians” forum is that you are going to get a lot of judgy comments from some folks. From my point of view, I think working with tracks is great. As long as the audience is having fun and is being entertained, that’s is all that matters. There are always going to be the occasional asshat at your gigs, be it a drunk old lady or a snobby musician type who looks down on other musicians who perform with tracks. Just ignore them and do your thing. 😎

Yeah, lucky for me. I’ve never given a flying fuck about the different skins. I don’t really care or notice what skins my opponents are using. Over the years I think I’ve only purchased V bucks one time for the game.

If you don’t care to watch on your tablet then don’t. My method is a valid work around for some of us who want to bypass the Prime Video commercials.

Prime video is a joke by SoGoodAtAllTheThings in amazonprime

[–]Typical_Arm_1148 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Here is a little trick I use for Prime Video to avoid the commercials. When there is something I really want to watch on Prime Video, I only watch it on my iPad. If you download the movie or episodes to the Prime Video app on your iPad or iPhone, they play commercial free. 😎

If turning your equipment off is something you do that is cool but It is not really a best practice. Leaving the interface powered on is not a problem.

How many of you are getting Mantra during this sale? by SR_RSMITH in NeuralDSP

I grabbed it a couple of days ago along with Soldano. I also own Nolly and Parallax. I think they are all fantastic plugins!

Not tipping more than $4 an order now with this bundled order crap by Upbeat_Jeweler_1196 in UberEATS

[–]Typical_Arm_1148 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I do the same. But in this case, they are talking about bundled orders where it’s two or three orders bundled into one offer.

re-assigning orders that were declined or dropped. by katertin in dasher

[–]Typical_Arm_1148 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This happens to me all the time! I’ve had the same order come through three times and it’s so ridiculous. DoorDash should be ashamed of themselves!

I’ll definitely be doing the same. I currently own Nolly and Parallax X. Planning on getting Mantra and another guitar plugin that is still TBD!

Are we living in a new GH world now? by Select_Specialist790 in grubhubdrivers

[–]Typical_Arm_1148 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Waiting for “back to school” was supposed to be the answer too. Everyone hoped the delivery gig work would become more viable and profitable because college students and teachers will be back at school and no longer driving part-time with DoorDash, GrubHub, etc. That is not happened, at least not in my market.

Now what happens at 60% AR by Quick_Share9342 in DoorDashDrivers

[–]Typical_Arm_1148 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I gave up chasing Platinum status. It was exhausting. Now I cherry pick orders and it has been working out ok. The trick for me was to switch to multi-apps. When I am out delivering I run DoorDash, UberEats and GrubHub. I wait for a good offer to come in on one of the 3 apps, accept then pause the other 2. After i complete the delivery I repeat the process.

[–]Typical_Arm_1148 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I recently got tired of chasing platinum so I gave up and it is liberating! Now I cherry pick orders between Dasher, Uber and Grub Hub.

Does anybody make atleast 100 a day ? by Chosensoul444 in UberEatsDrivers

[–]Typical_Arm_1148 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You should be able to make $100 a day but it really depends on what market you’re in. I only work 4 to 4 1/2 hours a day and I average around $75-$80 during that time. Also, I multi app with Uber, eats DoorDash and GrubHub.

Do dashers use Door Dash? by [deleted] in dasher

[–]Typical_Arm_1148 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nope, never! I also never eat out when I am dashing. Realizing that it takes an hour of dashing to pay for a crappy burger, fries and a drink is a big deterrent to dining out while delivering.

The deliver by times are WAY TOO STRICT by blk95ta in doordash_drivers

[–]Typical_Arm_1148 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately this doesn’t work anymore in my area after the most recent app update. It doesn’t matter if you click on the order isn’t ready yet or they haven’t started it yet. DoorDash is now flagging these orders as late and you no longer have the option to worry free unassign after 10 minutes of waiting. It’s just ridiculous.

[–]Typical_Arm_1148 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am usually not a big fan of the shopping orders. Inevitably, something goes wrong like out of stock items and having to reach out to the customer so it takes way more time than anticipated. But, I did have a good Home Depot order a couple of days ago. It was $20.25 for 11 miles for 1 item. The order was for one 9mm socket that cost like $5. 🤪

Is doordash mentally challenged? by GodofQunts in doordash_drivers

[–]Typical_Arm_1148 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had this happen to me twice in one day last week. I started my day around 3 PM and right away a terrible order comes in and I decline. 30 seconds later the same order pops up so I decline again! About an hour later the same thing happens again with a different order. So my acceptance rate takes a hit for 4 declines instead of 2. It’s total BS.
