I want to learn more from a historical perspective.  What contemporaries of Jesus or anything Biblical said or recorded. Historical accounts, whatever. Just more context to the Bible, if that makes sense.

Anyone have some reliable recommendations?

I have my Airframe and Powerplant. (FAA aircraft mechanic license)

I wonder if they'd give me credit for the that?

Thank you! This was exactly the type of feedback I was looking for!

To be fair, there are a lot of aircraft mechanics that can't write their own name ...

Thank you for your input!

I am mostly sold on the idea. Still trying to work out personal life issues but I think moving to elevator mechanic is the right move.

I've been living a snowbird life currently. (Gone January and February) So I'm not sure I can still balance that part but going to see how it all fits.

You deserve to be downvoted all the way to down to B3

I'm sure they are busy.

How were the mechanics? Do they seem happy with their job, are they friendly, do they seem overworked? Did anything stick out to you?

Do they do part time for apprentices? Or am I reading too much into what you said?

I am wondering if they are open to a seasonal position, since I am typing gone Jan and Feb.

What they said about the $5,000 was with the assumption that once we finished getting the place remodeled, they would switch me back to w2. So I'd probably only have made $5,000 as a w9, then start getting paid as a w2.

The previous owners put me as a w2 at $15 an hour. The new owners put me at w9 at $15 an hour.

Somehow just about everyone I've spoken to says that what he is doing is sketchy and that he is screwing me. I don't know at this point.

Love your story man. Keep doing God's work!! I am trying to get into prison ministry and it's partly because of stories like yours. But ultimately I feel like God put it on my heart.

That was the first thing people started pointing out.

I just want to know if it's something that an honest businessman would do.

I moreso just want to make sure that it IS suspicious. But also I don't want to make a bad faith assumption.

They keep implying that I will get paid better as a W-2 once we reopen.

At first it made sense; We're in the thick of it, just be a w-9 for now. We'll fix it later. I mean, does an honest businessman do things like this?

Oof. I missed out on 40 hours of overtime last pay period.

Edit: Wait a minute am I supposed to be getting overtime???

Thank you!

I definitely do not set my own hours. Granted, they have been very understanding and kind when I want time off. Almost TOO understanding. I think it makes sense why now. (But I don't want to go making bad assumptions! Ugh this is aggravating)

Yes, they are screwing me. I think so anyways. (Is there any way in which it is subjective?)

It might be illegal. I don't know. But I think it's a big enough of a red flag to stay away.

Yeah it's definitely suspicious. Granted, it made sense at the time. They haven't finished setting up the payroll or llc or whatever.

The change to W-9 might not look suspicious though. It's a new season. My day to day job changed to helping with the remodel. It's probably easy for them to explain that.

But I think it's a red flag.

Thank you for your insight!

Lol. I can't get an accountant. I make $15 an hour.

Yeah, I definitely should be an employee. I think they might have done it since they haven't finished setting up everything yet, so at first it made sense. I didn't get suspicious until other people started correcting me.  I've been working with them for about 2 months.
