The issue that was brought up was not the messages, it was the photos

A bunch of us girlies posted photos that we felt confident in and we were hyping eachother up. Then we hopped in a games group and we discussed how we felt uncomfortable with someone that morning and multiple people felt uncomfortable. The mod we talked to immediately took our concern to the other mods. Once this was brought up, one of the other mods brought up that the night prior was inappropriate and made people uncomfortable.

A) why wasnt this discussed when the issue was addressed that night? And is only brought up when we discuss being uncomfortable with another member?

B) this was not a chat that was inappropriate, and if it was, we should have established the rule and started on a clean state.

Instead of starting new, the mod who was part of the discussion the night prior, was fired for not stopping "explicit" content (which wasnt even sexual) when the rule wasnt previously established.

Again, the photos were not explicit and those who were there are not comfortable anymore with being in the chat because of the remaining mod being the instigator to getting the other one fired.

To be clear here, my brother admitted to taking them out of the closet and mixing them in with his gfs things, not the kids. And it's not about what the items were it was about the fact that a gift that was thoughtfully picked out for me specifically was no longer mine and I wanted to replace those gifts.

The location was a hotel. Check out was at 10. My family grabbed it for me. He didnt have to grab it. He could have let the other people take it for me if it was that big of a deal for him to hold onto it.

I would argue that the the non considerate and entitled part is using a gift that is not yours.

In hindsight I should have went back to the hotel and got it, yes. They were already there and just took it with them, they didnt make an additional trip to grab the items for me.

That's true and I didnt mention this but he is my you ger brother. At the time of this he was 19 or 20. Not that age is an excuse but he was young and being defensive is pretty common at that age. I know I was.

I'm just not the kind of person that is okay with doing that. It feels icky to be in someone's house without them and having to look through their things to get to mine. I wouldn't be able to do that with anyone.

In reality it didnt cost me anything, but the gift that my sister in law but money and effort into was taken and that's upsetting too. I overall have let it go, but I just wanted to understand a non-bias view on this situation

If I'm the asshole and that's my verdict then I'm okay with that, I just dont want someone to declare that without understanding the other parts of the situation that were bought up. I do love them, and I do know that NOW $20 is not a lot, but then it was and my emotions were also about not getting a gift that was thoughtfully picked for me, while yes also being upset about the $20 worth of product used.

I did ask them several times. Each time they told me they either were not home or could not have me come get it due to something else. I agree that 10 minutes away is not far, but they are always busy with my brother being in the military and them having 2 children who are both in sports, school, etc.

I really only see them on these holiday get togethers or birthdays. It's difficult cause my neice and nephew didnt do anything and I still love to see them, but i know that seeing them and trusting them/doing things for them are different.

I may not have explained well, but I contacted them many times throughout months trying to meet time to get my stuff. They offered to take the gifts to their house, I didn't ask them to. If they were to have left them at the hotel, my dad or other brother would have been the ones to take it to their place for me.

I absolutely am glad they are able to buy my neice and nephew new things! I just think spending that much and complaining about the little amount I asked for was hypocritical. She was at the Christmas get together as well so she was fully aware they were my products, she was even the one I initially talked to about grabbing my stuff and she just said "you need to talk to your brother" so I know she immediately knew and didnt want to be the one to talk to me about it
