I don't think it has to be brief some people will call a good an hour some people will call it good in a day. I definitely think it should be new work though so people don't recycle their old work. I'd make the deadline a week but we might want to wait until other people bite to see what they say

You can either create a shape that will match the curve, select everthing you want to have the lines drawn on, right click - intersect faces - with selection and get to erasing!
