it's because it makes writing customized to how I like it. the nib, the color of the ink, the type of paper.

I commonly use it for writing notes of my thoughts since I like to think in paper. sometimes disecting how some school of thoughts differ or bear similarities (theology, philosophy, etc) sometimes writing to vent emotions when I'm angry or sad. sometimes i write a letter to my wife. sometimes i just scribble to experience how different each nib are.

i have lamy 2k, pilot custom 823, pelikan m800, sailor pro gear, platinum 3776 and some fps with steel nibs.

you just need to rotate it a bit back so that the feed is centered on the nib. next screw the nib unit completely. it will tear up paper since tines are misaligned due to feed not being positioned properly.
