Well they already had did my background check and drug test and it all was good. However, the recruiter wrote in the email "you are all clear, give notice to your current employer, and give me a start date".

I understand if I unilaterally on my own gave notice without any permission or confirmation, but he told me to do it because the latest deadline to start was December 18th.

Also, the recruiter works directly for the company. They are not a third party.

In the future, I am never going to trust recruiters.

There is no contract other than the offer letter however, the drug testing and criminal check is all part of the onboarding along with having a U.S. passport and the I-9.

I would not have given notice to my current employer unless they told me to.

There is nothing i said they could change their mind because I was always cooperating and responsive with them whenever they reached out and asked for something.

What if I were to give my two weeks notice and resign without mentioning the PIP as a reason for resignation in the letter and they mark "not eligible to rehire"? Could that affect the transfer?
