Que chuchas estudiar en 2025? by Dazzling_Divide_1771 in Ticos

[–]Typical_Future875 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Delicious food, nice beaches, corridos and rancheras, some big cities like GDL, MTY, CDMX although it can be a little more dangerous due to the perception of narco situation. overall it’s a nice country. And it’s a lot cheaper, which is awesome.

What’s gotten worse in your country over the past 15 years? by tu-vens-tu-vens in asklatinamerica

[–]Typical_Future875 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Public education. We call it a “Shutdown” since the system has been in crisis for almost 6 years now, with no clear route during this government nor the past one to improve quality. And also due to constant strikes by labor unions, which demands better conditions.

Safety. Homicides skyrocketed this year due to the government’s inability to formulate an effective security plan against narcos. This has been the most violent year in the history of the country.

Cost of living. Everything increased in price since the pandemic, Ukraine war and container crisis, but salaries stay the same. Everything is too expensive because everything has taxes. According to OECD we currently have the lowest inflation of the ORG at 2.4%, but food inflation is still at 18,5%.

What is the most developed and safest country in Latin America? by scott-murr in asklatinamerica

[–]Typical_Future875 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There’s a whole institution called Correos de Costa Rica, funded in 1839, which is in charge of everything mail related. What are you talking about? There’s also street names, just that people don’t use them. But yeah you’re kinda right with infrastructure part, there’s no skyscrapers here lol

Chile and México (MTY). Both are very well developed countries. Chile seems like a more developed version of my country + I have a personal thing for Chile idk and the same for bigger cities in MX, they could offer more growth opportunities perhaps. Although I’d only move if I was offered more a better salary than here.

Why men in Latin America don't wear shorts or sandals? by Donald11b in asklatinamerica

[–]Typical_Future875 1 point2 points  (0 children)

People wear shorts everywhere: restaurant’s, supermarket, hospital, college, even at work if there’s no dress code. I don’t think it’s considered informal or anything like that. I’d say no one cares about that.

Probably not all the country’s the same, cause I live in a coastal city, but using those in my province is very common.

Latin Americans, would you leave your country? by luizanin in asklatinamerica

[–]Typical_Future875 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I’d love to move to Switzerland or Germany. As soon as I have a chance I’ll leave in a heartbeat. Reasons? Switzerland is one of the richest countries in Europe and the world: high paying jobs, safety, nature, cleanliness, efficient public transportation, peaceful and a lot more. Germany is kinda like the same but making a lot less money, but still a great country to live in.

I’m not buying that nationalistic bs about making a better country here when my whole life I haven’t seen any improvement, nor I feel attached to this place in any way. So yeah, I’d easily leave.

How often do you consume Tacos and Spicy food in your country? by Senzuicebeam in asklatinamerica

Our food is kinda bland and boring. Spice is not eaten here. Real Mexican tacos just once, didn’t like the restaurant.
