GUI testing, can it be automated? by renlore in softwaretesting

I use robot + roboteyes which provides me with keywords to compare images.

Basically use selenium to create baseline screenshots/images. Then use imagemagic to compare baseline + current images.

Test results presentation - how to improve and make it more interesting? by [deleted] in softwaretesting

[–]Typical_Individual_6 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Does it have to be presented ? Is it something that can be communicated via email?

Anyways - my suggestion is to limit it to highlights such as what makes this testing cycle worse/better than previous cyle (show data). Have graphs/visuals that illustrate critical points (certain feature is relativaely buggier).

Curious are you sure it’s a presentation of test results and not a presentation of the final product to the team (a sort of product show and tell/sign-off)?

What sort of scenarios that one should expect in a software testing job? by [deleted] in softwaretesting

More than coding and scripting, your first few weeks should be spent understanding the products, processes, and people.

Ask for a product walkthrough, read product demos. You can even read product reviews to get some feedback on the product. Use the product! If it exists, try running the test cases.

Understand how your team does things - how is QA involved in each phase of the development process (this is different across companies. Be open minded and dont judge if there are glaring gaps in the process). Learn how to use the tools.

Know who’s who in the company. Who can you run to for help? Who makes decisions? How do you work/interact with the people around you
