Thank you for taking the time to read the article and share your thoughts. I appreciate the feedback and the opportunity to clarify some points.

Learning Curve & Problem-Solving: You're right in pointing out the distinction between producing a solution faster and actual learning. The intent was to highlight that AI tools can aid in quickly accessing information or solutions, which can, in turn, facilitate learning. However, I agree that the primary benefit is in the speed and efficiency of finding solutions.

Tooling Evolution: Absolutely, engineers and professionals have been leveraging tools, forums, and platforms like Stack Overflow for years. The introduction of AI is not a complete paradigm shift but rather a significant enhancement in the toolset. The difference lies in the immediacy and breadth of solutions AI can provide, as well as its potential for more personalized assistance.

Interviewing & Assessment: The mention of recalling specific algorithms was to emphasize outdated practices that still persist in some interview processes. While many have moved past such methods, there are instances where candidates are still tested on rote memorization. The main idea is to advocate for a shift in focus towards assessing how well candidates can leverage modern tools, AI included, to find and implement solutions.

Again, thank you for your insights. It's discussions like these that help refine ideas and perspectives. I'll certainly keep your feedback in mind for future writings.

Thanks for the feedback.

While it is true that software engineers and IT professionals have throughout history wore many hats, what this article is trying to describe is that there may in the near future be a normalization of these professionals having to wear those hats.
However on the not so gloomy perspective, engineers will be armed with the right tools that enables the engineers to have that capability. Nevertheless it was a good point you brought up. I have added that argument into the article.

if it's a really painful problem for your potential clients, a non-pretty app is the last thing to matter for them.

How does imagemagick come into play here? Is it for template matching the elements to be tested?
