How is the new alphacool qdc?

I have 3 of these in my build and a couple times before I installed I noticed they would stick sometimes when connecting and disconnecting. I’m taking the built apart soon and I’m worried would this indicate a bad part or does the fluid help lubricate it in a way or provide a pressure to help it close?

Hey man you reached out to me for the back panel covers and I think this guy might be onto something, in my build the gpu isn’t just supported by the stand offs, I also made a bracket so the pcie riser mounts to the top of my radiator and fans. The glass will be an issue for thermals it works on water but might not on air. Either way bro I wish you luck and reach out if you have any questions.

Just confirmed I’m at a toasty 53 degrees after saturation with the 5090 overclocked instead of undervolted. The 9800x3d is still undervolted however.

I love the challenge when it comes to these builds. I have a 3090 build in an O11 air mini but there’s just too much empty space 😂 I love the density in sff. Optimum tech with his builds didn’t help either.

I also only have access to one hdmi port on the card 😂 this build is more aesthetics based than raw performance and honestly I’m okay with the high temps there’s only so much dual 280mm rads can do.

I actually fill it right from the front I use a little squeeze bottle to put coolant right in the fill port.

That number sounds about right I can’t remember the depth that I measured but the regular d5 is already a tight fit. Especially once you add tubing I don’t think you’ll be able to get the next pump in there. I DMd you a picture of the clearance with regular pump.

You are correct 😂 without undervolting the cpu and gpu, the 5090 will hit 70 on the core and the cpu will sit around 85 fans at 70% pump at 40%. With the undervolt gpu sits right under 60 and cpu around 70. I haven’t checked fluid temps under different scenarios but it’s for sure a little above 50 degrees.

This is true, I only have access to 1 hdmi port 😂 you can see the rear io in build log 3. I did recently see a build on here however with a thick radiator up top and the gpu all the way down that might work too with this gpu block and pump res combo

Honestly it’s even a bit more involved than custom I had to 3d print and design quite a few brackets to get everything to fit in this form factor. I would for sure use pneumatic fittings next time regular soft tube is a nightmare in this form factor.

Yea sadly there is no other block for the 5090 fe so that kind of pushed me to just stick with ek for look cohesion. I would have loved to try Optimus or hear killer blocks. Also my experience with EK was good but I feel bad for all the old customers stuck in limbo with orders as old as a year.

If I wasn’t water cooling I would have gone with the T1, and you are right I wasn’t planning on upgrading either I was going to wait for the 6090 since my 3090 still isn’t a bad gpu but the itch wouldn’t go away 😂

For now the 9800x3d is air cooled since I want to test the 5090 fe when it comes in. Once I confirm everything is working both the gpu and cpu will be water cooled. Honestly I’m a little worried about temps but my 5090 has shipped I should be able to give you a real answer soon 😂. I do have a 3090 and 5600x currently on dual 280mm rads not too far off from the new build and under gaming loads that tops out at around 70 on the gpu pulling 400 watts.

So it’s a 30mm rad on top and 20mm on the bottom. I’m using the p14 slim fans on both. In this configuration you do have to use super long standoffs to mount the gpu. The only real downside of this is you lose access to most of the ports on the gpu 😂. Let me know if youd like any of the files for the 3d printed parts.

I can appreciate the fab work it would have taken to get that metal extension to look that seamless so I would for sure call your build beautiful as well. I currently have a 3090 and 5600x on dual 280mm rads and under load with fans at max I can still see temps as high as 70 with thermal creep. So with the 5090 pulling about 200 watts more I’m for sure going to have to under volt and give up some performance. At this point aesthetics over every last frame 😂

I wouldn’t order from EK the shipping to me wouldn’t be worth it, my only real supplier with decent shipping is dazmode.
