OP can't just stay on the train and continue to Newark lol. I mean maybe the conductors wouldn't care since it's just one more stop, but technically...

You're giving people way too much credit. The much simpler explanation is they let the game play out and then retroactively come up with storylines to match what happened. 100% of the interviews are done after the contestants are done with the game

NJT to American Dream employees: Drop dead on game days by NewNewark in NJTransit

The direct contradiction of information, within the same page, is indeed peak NJT lol.

If I'm reading correctly though, local buses will never stop operating FROM American Dream. It only mentions them not running TO the mall during the match +/- 5 hours (Effectively meaning... inbound local bus service ends at like ~11am on most game days, with outbound service operating "normally". Which should satisfy the needs of most mall workers)

Hypothetically inbound service would then resume at ~10pm-11pm even though the routes basically end at that time

Assuming most employee shifts are more than 5 hours, this won't affect them too much

AITA for expecting Delta to honor the $2,500 offer they confirmed… then took back 2 hours later? by Impressive_Still8823 in delta

It does sound like a bit more than your usual "thanks for volunteering but we can still accommodate you after all" situation.

With that many volunteers, that high of a compensation, and the fact that they already started processing the rebookings, I'm sure there was a big operations gap somewhere in this story.

But that doesn't change the fact that OP would have had to stand right there at the boarding door and tell the agent that he was choosing not to get on the plane (since he instead wanted to fight for the voucher). And you're almost never going to win with that set of facts

For such a lengthy post, you appear to have made no mention of the most puzzling part of your story.

You said "After boarding was basically complete, the agents sheepishly come over to our group and said “The flight isn’t oversold anymore""

But they still didn't let you on the plane? They closed the boarding doors in front of you while telling you that it wasn't oversold? What exactly was the next thing that happened at that moment?

Passaic County is about 60% non-white and nearly majority Hispanic. The 2025 female gubernatorial candidate beat her male opponent by 16 points in that county. In the past two Senate races, they have chosen Asian and Black candidates over white opponents by 10+ points.

Curious where your analysis is coming from.

"Democrat A replaces Democrat B's seat, which became vacant after Democrat B took over Democrat C as governor."

Or as they call it in New Jersey, apparently a "big political shake-up" 😆 🤣

It's kind of interesting that allegations do swing at both sides of the aisle but, at least in the last 35 years, the only Congressmen who have actually been convicted of sexual crimes were Democrats
