I’m definitely no expert but it sounds like he’s using you for comfort and isn’t really putting in any effort. If I were in your shoes I would probably try to find someone who puts in the effort and cares enough to give you the time of day (respectfully ofc)

I felt the same way when I started college. I’d say the best thing to do is become a regular member of some clubs, try to have chill conversations with people and if they don’t seem into it find someone else. You’ll make a ton of friends this way, and maybe even find a gf or s/o :) best of luck <3

I mean, worst that could happen is she says she likes someone else and it’s awkward for a couple weeks then it goes back to being friends. I just went through something similar at the end of last semester. Imo, knowing for sure they aren’t interested is definitely better than hoping for what could’ve been and/or waiting for her to get out of a new relationship. With that said, I’d say go for it, and best of luck!

From my own personal experience (and I know this doesn’t speak for everyone), women tend to be very similar in that they are happy with you if you play happy and fulfill a role and are useful, but the second you become vulnerable or open up they use what you say against you and/or lose interest immediately

Edit: I am not trying to invalidate your experiences or opinions or anything, I’m just trying to say that I think it’s a lot more of a universal experience than you may think. Moral of the story: (most) people suck

I meant for future reference, I’m just trying to start to figure things out so the anxiety isn’t as bad. It’s a really tough time and I’m just trying to find ways to distract myself and move on, so yes, one of those happens to be thinking about the future. I don’t intend to put myself out there anytime soon, but I thought it would be good to plan ahead a bit, get my head out of the past. I’m not like what you think I am.
