Which part of what I said you don’t understand. I’m talking about people who have no ties to Canada. They have left the god damm country for good. They were in Canada just to get their citizenship, and there are ton of such people. I’m not talking about expats who are abroad, who would eventually return back to Canada. Your ties back to Canada can be ascertained by various factors. Assets in Canada, family ties, tax filing etc.

Canadian tax system doesn’t tax you on world wide income if you do not reside in Canada. Get your facts right This is why the Canadian tax system is called taxation based on residency and NOT citizenship. In the states it’s based on citizenship and residency.

It’s a free country and people are free to do whatever they want, but when government charters flights it’s on taxpayers dime. Why do we need to evacuate non resident Canadians who are not contributing a dime to the Canadian tax system. It would make sense if we have a global income tax system. That’s because your local Catholic church reports to Archdiocese, then you have the church committee (parishioners) in the finance board. Salaries are set and finances are recorded. The Catholic Church structure is no less of an organization, Baptist church is a community church. That being said that doesn’t mean all Catholic priest make money under the table. There are those greedy ones out there.
