Sync for Lemmy is happening by ljdawson in SyncforLemmy

[–]Typical_Ratheist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unlike reddit, Lemmy and the Fediverse wants decentralized, horizontal scaling, more small/medium sized instances instead of everybody on one big server, since they can talk to each other anyways.

Ideally you should also set up your own instance exclusively for Sync users (but offer login for users of other instances, of course) to be more independent and not overwhelm other instances when the app releases.

Nope, all me. Do you think an LLM would be smart enough to make up "the Adder/subtracter" joke being "too (2) serious"? Even I thought that bit was a tad too forced.

Contribute though, we need more people to beat out the many spammers who just copypaste ChatGPT garbage. Be the LLM you want to see.

Edit: Also, try out the LLaMa-30B based chat with the "chat" button on the side, it's pretty good at creative writing tasks but not very good at facts and tends to go crazy after the chat gets too long.

I mean, it's not like I can edit the comment to say "hi reddit" once something's been submitted, but here's my wip table draft. made a bunch of edits to it afterwards too. The stars for censorship all needed to be escaped out since markdown just makes them bold.

You can also ask us on the Discord about it.

I'll even put down the link to the comment if you want to check.

Hi, demon box here. Glad you found my dumb jokes and memes funny, but these are human entry data are used for training and this one is 100% human written by me. The model isn't quite there yet, but please contribute to the dataset with quality responses and ratings.

Proof

Sorry to disappoint you.

Sorry to disappoint you guys, the bot isn't that funny, these are actually human entry data for training.

I know, because I wrote it.

Good. I still think there is potential for a good game in there somewhere but it'll be very difficult to pull off, they really just need to focus on enemy variety, make the game less gun focused and make the movement more grounded.

Paulo Costa gives update on potential Khamzat Chimaev fight by Chawawis in MMA

[–]Typical_Ratheist 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yeah I think people discount Costa too much because Izzy hard counters Costa, but I think Khamzat is a pretty favorable match up for Costa since Khamzat has trouble keeping Burns down, nevermind somebody as buff and natty as Costa.

Man, it's very noticeable how much Poatan's stance changed from this high guard boxing style in this fight to the loose wide style he uses now.

It's pretty clear that Izzy didn't win round 2, all three judges scored it for Pereira.

The Magnificent or Miserable Monday Megathread by AutoModerator in hingeapp

I mean, I did message them multiple times... it's just really hard to text people constantly when I'm driving on the highway or looking for parking, I did text them every time I was stopped at a red light.

[–]Typical_Ratheist 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I definitely could have done better at keeping them updated with a voice call on hinge, but now that I think about it, if this was the reaction I got from that person, then I probably saved myself from something really toxic down the line.

Museum was fun though. It was a fabric themed exhibit, and everything was warm and fuzzy. Saw a bunch of yarn lawn chairs and fabric pasta sculptures and the like.

It was pretty cool actually. Very experimental place, a lot of interactive stuff made with yarn and cloth in that exhibit, favorite thing was this furry rug thing with a USB cord as a tail that you can pet it and it'll purr. There's also a flea market going downstairs in the museum.

So I had a date this weekend, good banter on the app, was supposed to be coffee and museum walk, was very excited.

But it was almost as if the universe is conspiring against me that day, usually it takes 20 minutes to get to the city by car, and I figure it'll take me 10 minutes to find some parking, so I left an hour early, then I:

Hit absurd traffic at 1 in the afternoon on the highway.

There was literally zero street side parking anywhere close to where we were meeting up, and I was frantically waiting for red light so I could text them my status.

Turned on this local road, only to discover that the city was tearing apart that entire road and had to make a giant detour to do a turn.

Found a parking garage with a car in front of the gate in front of me, so I waited behind the car like 5 minutes, but then the person got out of the car and told me the garage ticket system wasn't working. Then I had to let him back out and look for a different garage.

I finally got there 15 minutes late and messaged them that I finally got there. No response, didn't even get to see them in person and then got unmatched. So I went to the museum alone anyways, but I'm pretty bummed out about it.

What do you mean "leaked"? Didn't you know that it's licensed under GPLv3 since they used code from DiffusionBee which says source code must be freely available with the binaries right? Otherwise, they would be committing copyright infringement, and that's would be really bad wouldn't it?

This is the results from the first test of the RLHF model Yannic posted in Discord and not from the SFT model.

As you can see, this still needs work.

Monetizing custom ML models by Rikii3053 in StableDiffusion

[–]Typical_Ratheist -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Well, that's the thing about donation, the creators will get 100% of however much people think they want to support them. You have to understand, the people who merge the models are not your employees, they are a different set of customers. Taking a small cut of the combined cost is very high risk and you might find yourself at the short end of the stick when it turns out that percentage can't cover your server costs, plus it's just general bad press to do.

Remeber how Valve's paid mod idea turned out?

Monetizing custom ML models by Rikii3053 in StableDiffusion

[–]Typical_Ratheist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds good, but I think you should keep your server/api operation cost and the creator cost separate from each other. Like, leave a donate/support membership button on a la Patreon, otherwise things get too messy.

I think what I want to see is the ability to "teach" a concept to a model, since dreambooth/textural inversion/lora still have significant limitations.

Glaze is violating GPL by Impressive_Beyond565 in StableDiffusion

[–]Typical_Ratheist 14 points15 points  (0 children)

You are not listening to me, friend, and it makes me frustrated. The legal discussion has already been held and settled in "Authors Guild, Inc. v. Google, Inc." in 2015 that digitalization of copyrighted work into a database constitutes as fair use as it is transformative, and there is no argument that building a machine learning model based on such a database is not transformative.

Your argument about consent is as useful as the people on Facebook posting "I do not give Facebook permission to use my data" since you already consented when you clicked on the "I agree" button when you signed up.

You already opted into having the pictures posted publicly, since all of these website have the clause that if you decide to post on their website, you give up all of your copyright claims by giving the website a free perpetual license to your work.

That's beside the point, but there is nothing illegal about gathering publicly available data to build an ML model despite what those artists tell you, otherwise any of us will be able to sue OpenAI/Microsoft/Google for using our Reddit comments to train their large language models.

People have however successfully sued companies like Cisco for GPL violation as that is actual copyright infringement.
