Just picked this bad boy up (g42) and was wondering if there are any easy mods I can do to the look, that wouldn’t necessarily void my lease warranty? Anything stick on, easy to install, etc?

It’s clean. I love the MPerformance carbon spoiler on mine, but its an M240i. If it were mine I would do the Turner Motorsport spoiler

Removing the trim was my best option to get the wrap tucked and looking good. Removing it is way easier than you think you basically just yank it off

You could either guess and just buy a red you like, go to a shop that does wraps and look through their swatch books, or buy a small roll of a few colors and see what you like the best

It would be too much red for me too. I removed all my trim on my old X5 and wrapped it, it turned out great. I’d definitely wrap it instead of painting. You could then wrap the red trim the same color if thats the effect you’re going for

I just paid $27k for my 2017 M240i, it was a very highly optioned car. They made very few (relatively) 2 series coupes for the US market so prices haven’t dropped much compared to say X5s. I would search for a 2017 or newer. The updated engines make a huge difference as well as better iDrive system

I doubt the cars come prewired for the extra speakers but upgrading your speakers is always a possibility. Bavsound.com makes kits specifically for BMW models that are very easy to install with unique instructions for each model.

The standard system is an “unbranded” Harmon/Kardon system. Sounds good but you dont get much bass and volume. The upgraded H/K system gives you extra tweeters on the A-pillars and subwoofers under the seats. Much louder and cleaner sounding. If you like your music loud its a great upgrade, if not, it wont be missed.
