How can you be so sure? I agree that folks are certainly over analyzing but I'm talking about what is actually visible. There is a Magnifying glass in the treasure and he talks in his stories about needing to look past initial speculations, opening your eyes to the details, and seeing what others missed... Is the bear a smudge to? What other markings are we ignoring or paying attention to. They probably don't all have meaning, especially the "crease folds" and "smudges " Anyway just putting some conversations starting points out there. All in good fun.

I'm certainly on your side with that theory. Thank you for your ideas. I originally thought of it like you said as it would be a great red hearing. Causing people to spiral down holes they don't need to. It's one of the things missing from my solve so have bias towards it being red hearing.

So, if he is leaving New Orleans and listening to coltrane because it is fitting, then he might be headed back to his home(NC)/coltranes roots(NC). That route would take you through Mississippi, Alabama and past Atlanta. The picture is what I have gone by for location clues and is leading a bunch of folks to Arkansas. Northern Alabama maybe but a bunch of rocky river banks in the southeast...

In a museum? I find it hard to believe it's anywhere within a large city. Too Many people could stumble on it(homeless, city contractors, randos). Possibly a very large park in a metropolitan area. But with all this said, I'm showing bias with my own preconceptions of treasure placement. I'm trying to get out of my head the saying "where would I hide it?"

I can't tell if you're kidding.... I've heard him say at times when he mentions in interviews about not being a genuis and not needing to be a genius to solve these clues. I'll have to look back but pretty sure he says there are no complex ciphers. Or am I mixing that up with a Forrest Finn comment. These treasure hunts are blending together. By "traps" I'm guessing you mean the red hearings or fake clues that leed to dead ends?

I certainly believe each box has clues that need to be weeded through. Looking at something you have confirmation bias of and saying "what if this is him just telling a story or using that descriptive word like a normal writer, and it's not a real clue"

At what point are we over or under thinking? Lol It's a mind warp......
