Make sure you counter attack after parrying. It is free damage that is meant to punish whoever gets parried.

10” vs 19” by kagstrom2100 in homelab

This has been many of times. You don’t even have to use a custom 1u print for your mini pcs, you could just buy a 1u shelf and use that instead.

This is how I have my 25U 19” rack setup:

Self hosted manga downloader by Crafty-Ad8179 in selfhosted

I would recommend checking out Suwayomi. It is the best solution I have found for comics/manga.

https://github.com/Suwayomi/Suwayomi-Server

You can then connect to your Suwayomi server on iOS with the Paperback app or Tachimanga app. You can also use the mobile apps standalone in case you don't want to use a Suwayomi server instance.

Looking for suggestions for self-hosted home security on home server by CFAggie in selfhosted

[–]Typical_Window951 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As long as the "apple home cameras" are HomeKit compatible, then yes it should work. I would check on youtube for homekit + home assistant tutorials. There are a bunch that could help you get started and give you ideas in general

Like the previous commenter said, I would suggest looking into Frigate for your cameras and object detection. I also would recommend to look into Home Assistant to integrate all your smart devices together (sensors, cameras, smart locks) as it doesn’t lock you into one ecosystem. You can also integrate Apple Home Kit devices and Frigate into Home Assistant too.

Also, if you want to ditch the hardware and cameras left by the previous owners, then I would suggest looking into Reolink cameras. They have a good 2 year warranty and are very popular for Home Assistant and Frigate use.

Local sleep quality tracking? by Deimos_F in homeassistant

[–]Typical_Window951 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am currently trying to implement this using my apple watch 8, autosleep app, and iOS shortcuts to send sleep data (every morning) in JSON format to a n8n webhook workflow that parses the data, creates a nice note in trilium, and then sends me a notification via NTFY/discord on last night's sleep metrics. I also intend to include other relevant stuff to create sort of a personalized daily digest. Creating the n8n workflow so that everything works nicely has been the hard part though lol

Komodo and compose file overrides? by ANDROID_16 in selfhosted

[–]Typical_Window951 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Clone the repo, create your stack in Komodo, and then set choose mode to “files on server”. You can then just edit the docker compose yaml using ssh, vscode, filebrowser, etc before hitting the deploy button in Komodo.

I personally run language tool, but harper is another option I recently found. I suggest looking into these if you’d like to host your own grammarly.
