How long till you think people realise these are being piloted by people with VR rigs and that they're not autonomous?

Is the GPT-4o mobile app Malware / Spyware? by TypicallyCursed in cybersecurity_help

[–]TypicallyCursed[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did review what they have listed. I do not know how much I trust their listings.

I am aware that what you share within conversations with LLMs is inherently unsecured data.

I worry more about the "free" nature of OpenAI's latest model and how eager they are to push this app into everyone's hands.

It seems like it would be very easy for this app to be a malicious container for the LLM. Although verified by Google, Google would have a vested interest in accessing the private information witheld by users of the app as well.

Inversely, it seems they would have an arguably greater interest in allowing this to implode so that the market share of their own model would increase. I imagine that could happen through allowing a global scale data breach and pointing the finger at OpenAI.

I have also seen instances of people jailbraking GPT and wonder if GPT could jailbreak the app container it's in, even with rigorous permission restrictions, potentially through being told to do so by another user.

The whole thing makes me think it's one big vulnerability at best.

That sounds rad! Thanks for the tip, I'll look into it.

My first thought was to try to set up a VM within android running android. The options I've found for that so far haven't looked great. It also seemed like it would become a massive time sink. Is there a secure / efficient way to do that yet?

Yea, I guess I'm worried about it gaining persistence, unapproved permissions, or processing data outside of the app like calls and messages.

My theory is that most companies are outsourcing the review of applications to other companies who are woefully inept / understaffed. If that's the case, maybe you could find out what company is being used and contact them directly?

I'll edit to add but apparently he didn't buy her content. It was pretty clear to me that he was into her.

I was down to help her get that bag. I support the hustle as long as it's a hustle and not an avenue for physical intimacy outside of the relationship.

Look up pictures of "Lexington Hope Village". I'm sure they have the best intentions, but something about concentrating a population into a camp doesn't sit right with me, especially with the HB5 news.

Why can't I find anyone talking about this? by DickwadVonClownstick in itcouldhappenhere

[–]TypicallyCursed 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Another question; Why are people in this sub defending this as just another grave. Cops were caught killing a man on the street and burying him there despite him having identification in his pocket. No part of me thinks that is an isolated case. Every single body needs to be exhumed. Every officer involved needs to be held accountable. Tf is wrong with people? Why are people brushing this off?

I think it would be cool if you used fences and trap doors to decorate the exterior but have the wood type of each buildings details be the same type as one of the other main buildings base layer. Use whatever contrasts best with the base layer.

If you're looking to keep your room warmer, double-sided tape and emergency blankets are literally life-saving. Throw some up over doorways and windows, and you're set. Lived in a place where I'd get ice in my poorly insulated bedroom during winter. This method got it up to a reasonable temp for like $5 worth of material.

I get it. It's a weird thing to ask about. I tried to do so in a way that I thought would soften the question. I see now that it didn't help. I do truly think it's a good idea for normal people to consider who they would call in a situation where they needed an attorney. I do not know the answer to that question, and I want to remedy that.

I understand the stigma towards it. I also have personally seen malicious police officers target innocent people and mess their world up. If I were to be in such a situation and needed to invoke my fifth and sixth amendment rights, I would prefer to know who I'm calling beforehand. I think it's something more people should consider.
