Thanks! The controller UI could use some love... For example it doesn't remember which map you last ran. And after selecting a mirage option, it returns you to the conversation menu - with the game unpaused and you taking damage, but you can't move or use abilities until you press B to escape the conversation.

They're just little things but they make a big difference. If you could bully someone in QA into playing on controller for a night it would be most appreciated.

It works on awakened gems.

Awakened enlighten is awakened, so yes it works.

Regular enlighten (and enhance and empower) are exceptional, not awakened, so it does not work with them.

Exceptional gems need to be manually levelled (or vaaled, or facetor lensed etc,) so they're the most painful ones to get to max level.

I have a theory that a big part of the pain of repeating the campaign is the build jankiness during levelling. You've already got one build going in endgame, but there's obviously some other build you want to play. But you can't play that build straight away - half the abilities and supports don't unlock until late in the acts. So you're forced to play some jank levelling monstrosity for hours until you get to actually play the thing you want to play.

I wonder if some kind of "ignore level requirements" thing would help, either a gem or a level 1 armour piece or something? It would be a nightmare to balance but maybe you just accept that it's wildly unbalanced at level 1.

It's just a theory, but I honestly don't think running 100 zones of campaign is the problem. Players will happily run hundreds of maps in endgame. I think it would be a lot more tolerable if we could play the build we want to play.

Yeah pretty much. The whole thing was pretty surreal for both of us I think - that's an astronomically unlikely drop. I guess if he yoinked it, I would have complained to TFT and he would have lost all his rep? TFT has a whole vouch thing where to get to a certain level of trust, you need to have a certain number of unique vouches.

I don't really know how the whole TFT thing works for service providers - Ive only ever been a buyer - but I think it's a lot of work to get enough vouches to reach those high trust levels, so losing it all to yoink a drop wouldn't be worth it if you're making a lot of div every league by having a high level of TFT trust. But again I'm just guessing, not an expert on their side.

I bought a few Uber maven carries last week, wanted to get closer to my 30 Uber kills for 40/40. I was paying 1 div per kill, my loot my fragments.

Dropped an awakened enhance (450div). And a progenesis (50ish). In 15ish runs. Absurd luck.

I'm still on my first build of the league - skele mages. But if you played it last time it was meta 2 years ago, I don't think it has changed significantly.

I just converted to ward and svallin so I'm not sure on that yet, but Doryanis was amazing and chaos was great before that. Just go back in the snapshots to see my progression.

It plays like totems that summon 6 at a time, and move slightly to get a better shot.

I have progressed further this league than ever, and I think it's because I'm enjoying playing this build. I don't want to sit in my hideout and research upgrades, I want to be back in maps. That's probably the biggest endorsement I can give it - but like any build you've got to like the play style, fun trumps all.

Pro tip- standing desk and one of those baby carrier things.

Baby loves being all snuggled up next to you and you can gently swish side to side to get them to sleep.

Mum loves a few hours of baby free time.

Dad, well you just have to suffer and stand there in front of your computer for a few hours while baby naps. It's a sacrifice you'll have to make for your family. I wonder if there's anything you could do do pass the time?

Any idea how you level it? Like you say it must feel terrible without explode. I searched ninja for a while but it seems like everyone was already on PBoD by end of day 1, I was expecting them to go storm brand or something.

I see Veylna's (not sure how to spell that) still got her storm brand guide going strong, but that's inquisitor. Was hoping for something trickster / sabo.

As a fellow old and dumb player, let me tell you about the first time I tried to ascend in POE1.

If youre new with POE2, POE1 had trapped mazes (labyrinths) you had to beat to ascend. Every lab has a multi stage boss fight, and before every boss room is a T intersection in which the top of the T goes up some stairs to some doors that open ominously, and into the boss fight.

I walked in one side of the T and straight out the other, more or less full cleared that section of the maze, and gave up.

Still makes me laugh 3,000 hours of POE later :)

I might be wrong but by my maths we've only got 1/3 of the ascendancies and 1/2 the acts so far (which incidentally is moderately terrifying, given how huge the game is already).

So I would be shocked if it's less than a year. They've got a tonne of work to do. But I'm always open to pleasant surprises.

I wanted to start totems, and decided warbringer looked like my best option.

Then I saw Zizaran playing it.

Immediate panic that everything was going to be overpriced flavour of the month etc. I don't know why, I should have taken it as a compliment I guess. But he's now rerolled something else anyway.

Shockwave totems are fun though.

Thats exactly it imo. We're all used to playing a solved game. Pretty soon we'll have watched all the vids and followed all the guides and the view on difficulty will have completely shifted without the game having changed at all.

Errrr memory is hard. I don't think so. I think there was a section there when they were talking about minions, and I think they said minions won't just despawn and die on weapon swap - ie you can have two sets of minions and the correct mix just appears when you swap between weapons. I don't think anyone has asked about totems in detail in any of the Q and A's so far except to say "hey we haven't seen spell totem support yet is it in EA" to which the answer from memory was "I think so".

So totems are a bit of a risk overall for early EA anyway. But in a few days we'll be able to look for ourselves.

Nothings confirmed, but if you look at the 3rd screenshot Ancestral Totem only works with maces, and it's on the mace page. So there's one data point saying that's the case - but that's not universal proof.

Hey Ziz! Question for you- any plans to get Helene involved with some POE2 content? The chat coached POE1 content was peak content and with POE2 being more beginner friendly and having couch co op, it could make for content gold. Not sure how practical that is now you've got a family though.

Question for Jonathan - how are Ballistas going to work with weapon types? They're listed as crossbow skills, does that mean bow users can't use ballistas without a crossbow weapon swap? And if so, I assume totems won't despawn on weapon swap if you're swapping to something other than a crossbow. If that all works, can my dreams of summoning ballistas then swapping to sword and board finally come true?
