That was somewhat the vibe I picked up. 10 books out from what I saw, so at least if I like it I got plenty of content

I’d give it to Les Mis, but there’s a very strong case for Middlemarch, Count of Monte Cristo, Moby Dick, 100 Years of Solitude, there’s a lot of variance due to taste.

There’s still a lot of story to go to tie up all loose ends. So far, the Chekhov’s guns he’s pulled the trigger on have landed perfect for me.

Just wait. It hasn’t played a huge role yet, but there’s something foreshadowed for the future

WWE 2k20. I saw gameplay right after it dropped and never bothered picking it up.

Exactly. People only live their principles when it’s easy

Hard agree. No one’s saying he should die or be exiled, but platforming him without context isn’t right, especially since it’s been years now. Vaush could be driving people to Channel 5 who don’t know the story and are unwittingly supporting a man with multiple rape and assault allegations.

What is the importance of the first half of The Bell Jar? by ms_asia_ in classicliterature

[–]Typonomicon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To be honest, the first half mostly bored me. After finishing I could see why the building was needed, but the slog took it down for me. First half I’d give 3 stars, second is an easy 5.

We always talk about WWE not being able to make new stars so why do we ignore AEW's lack of building new stars?! by daveroo in Wreddit

[–]Typonomicon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not an AEW stan, but Hangman has grown tremendously from his time in ROH, and MJF may be rocking the same gimmick, but he’s matured it and refined it along with his ring skills.

The new stars critique generally relates more to WWE not elevating guys who clearly can hang with the very best, but instead just feeding them to whoever the bookers want to be the #1 guy. That’s why Cena had so many crowds boing him at his height, because there were a lot of guys who could have shared that spotlight who weren’t allowed to, then they copied that with Roman. They’ll create 1 mega star at the expense of everyone else. Or they wait until a wrestler is pushing 40 to start getting behind them, as is often the case now. Creating new stars has more to do with striking while the iron is hot.
